COLEN, Mr. Marquan - Age 20, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m., Pastor Fletcher Johnson officiating. Interment Sunset Hill Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mr. Colen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Marquan Connell “Quan” Colen was born November 9, 1989 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Tarmella Bradley and Clyde Colen, Sr. Marquan was a resident of Flint and attended McKinley Middle School and Mott Alternative High School. He was a member of Power of God Church. “Quan” enjoyed playing basketball, was a big joker and very “conceited”. He also loved spending time with his kids and family. Mr. Marquan Conell “Quan” Colen leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters Ma’Kari Kenell Colen and I’auna Monae’ Hightower; son, Malikhi Malik Colen; 2 stepchildren, Tahj and Sincere Parnell; parents, Tarmella Bradley (Micheal Jackson) and Clyde Colen, Sr.; grandmothers, Diana (Brent) Simpson and Gloria Colen; step grandmother, Rosa Jackson, all of Flint; 5 brothers, Clyde Colen, Maurice Colen, Marcus and Micheal Jackson, Jr.; step-brother, Tadece Dixon; niece, Janiyah Jackson; nephew, Qua’Dre Colen; 2 special aunts, Tomekia and Tiffany Villalpando; aunts, Jettie Jarrett, Angela, Michelle and Pamela Colen, Lisa, Gloria and Linda Faye Jackson, Minnie (Clarence) Caldwell, Tina, Jaime and Myra Colen; 8 uncles, Joseph Villalpando III, Dale Bradley, Marlin Villalpando, David Colen and James Colen; great-uncles, Greg, Gary and Benjamin Bradley; a host of cousins including, KeKe, ReRe, YaYa and Steven; many other relatives and friends, including special friend, Carrie Parnell, the mother of Ma’Kari and Malikhi, and close friends, Lisa and Tyra. Mr. Colen was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Turner; grandfathers, Joseph Villalpando, Sr. and James Colen, Sr.; great-grandmother, Audrey Mae Bradley; great-grandfather, Benjamin Bradley, Sr.; aunt, Tyisha Villalpando; great-aunt, Jackie Bradley; and cousins, Robert Bradley and David Colen, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Rev. Fletcher Johnson and New Life Baptist Church family, and a host of friends, especially J.R., Power of God and everyone who assisted in our time of need.
