Marion Ewing,

EWING, Mr. Marion, Jr. - Age 51, passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11AM Saturday, January 10, 2009 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mr. Ewing will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Friday. Mr. Marion Charles Ewing, Jr. was born August 7, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Marion C. Ewing, Sr. and Johnnie Ella Ewing. Marion “Chuckie” resided in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at a very early age. “Chuckie” was a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School “Class of 1975.” After graduation he served 4 years in the United States Army, where he was Honorably Discharged in August of 1979. “Chuckie” was employed with Genesee County Road Commision. His hobbies included playing drums, watching sports and dancing. “Chuckie” was also a well-dressed man who had a special love for nice cars especially Cadillac’s. He leaves to cherish his memory: 2 sons, Charles Dalawn Swift of Flint and Ronell Harvey of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Tashara Monique Ewing; mother, Johnnie Ella Ewing both of Flint; 4 sisters, Michelle Grear of Antioch, TN, Rhonda Bryant, Mishaun (Vincent) Barber, all of Flint and Stephanie Ewing of Antioch, TN; brother, Micheal (Sherry) Ewing of Grand Blanc, MI; 4 nieces, Jacquetta, Brandy, Fallon and Lauren; 7 nephews, Darnell, BJ, Anthony, DaVawn, Dereck, Avante and Quentin; 14 great nieces and nephews including 2 special great-nieces, Harmoni and Sharyiah; 2 aunts, Lillie (Alan) Jones and Elain Backstrom; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousin, William (Emma) Epps III, and special friends, Eddie Alston, Aubrey Porter, Haile Garrison, Bill McCullough, B.J. mothers of his children, Margo and dearest friend, Priscilla. Mr. Ewing was preceded in death by his father, Marion C. Ewing, Sr.; and grandparents.
