Ms. Marietta "Bay Bay" Brown

BROWN, Ms. Marietta "Bay Bay" - Age 58, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church, 5802 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Mickarl Thomas, Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Ms. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday with family present from 4-6 p.m. Ms. Marietta (Bay Bay) Brown was the daughter of Willie C. and Susie (Johnson) Brown. She was born in Flint, Michigan on December 23, 1954. Marietta matriculated through the Flint public school system graduating from Northwestern High School class of 1973. She attended Delta College where she graduated with a bachelor degree in public health. Marietta entered the world of work as a medical office assistant; she also enjoyed working for a number of years for the Beecher School District as a substitute teacher. In her later years Marietta was employed with General Motors Flint Metal Center and was a member of UAW Local No. 659. She retired from General Motors in 2008. Marietta was passionate about entertaining family and friends; she spent many hours collecting items for her miniature doll houses; enjoyed sports cars and music; and always brought life to family occasions. Ms. Marietta (Bay Bay) Brown leaves to cherish sweet memories mother, Susie Brown of Mt. Morris, MI; sister, Janice Brown-Adams of Flushing, MI; two brothers, Timothy of Atlanta, GA and Ross Brown of Flint; six nieces: Kyrra (Demetrius) Richmond of Flint, Shareatha Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Makeysa Brown and Sekolia (Germaine) Ambres, both of Fort Worth, TX; Janean (Michael) Couch of Grand Rapids, MI, and Alari Adams of Flushing, MI; great-niece, Armani Brown-Sims of Fort Worth, TX, 2 nephews, Donyell Gutter of West Bloomfield, MI, Reggie (Valerie) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; 3 great-nephews Darrien Ray of Indianapolis, IN, Davonta Brown-Sims of Fort Worth, TX and Elijah Gutter of West Bloomfield, MI; aunts, Marsha Brown, Gennie Brown, Helen Brown and Susie B. Brown, uncle, Rev. Roosevelt (Birdie) Brown; a host of cousins, relatives and friends including special cousins, Elaine McGill, Lavern Lock, and Loretta Kenebrew, special friends, Barbara Roland, Ramona Harris and Betty Britton; Ms. Marietta (Bay Bay) Brown was preceded in death by father, Willie C. Brown; brother, Willie Brown; grandparents Will (Laura) Brown and Theo (Zettie) Johnson.
