HOLLINS, Ms. Marian "Mae" - Age 80, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Min. James Marshall, Eulogist. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Ms. Hollins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Ms. Marian Amanda Hollins “Mae” was born on February 26, 1931 in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of Idus H. and Geneva P. Hollins. Marian was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Central High School. She was employed as a Domestic Specialist for over 30 years. Her hobbies were traveling to Columbus, Cambridge, Akron, and Canton, OH; Fortson, GA and several pleasure trips to Detroit, MI and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Also she enjoyed Family Friday Card Games, a member of the S-Patrick Club, leisure walking in her neighborhood and parks, family and friends Saturday breakfast, Friday card games, Pokeno games, attending family reunions, touring, site seeing, vintage homes and her favorite season was Autumn. “Mae” dearly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and they loved spending time with her daily. Her family dearly loved spending time with her daily throughout her illness and provided around the clock care without complaining. The bond of love was reinforced and truly expressed with words being spoken. Ms. Marian Amanda Hollins “Mae” leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Claudia Marshall of Columbus, OH, Tracy and Kelly Hollins of Flint; 9 grandchildren, Min. James (Kelly) Marshall, Chana Marshall, all of Columbus, OH, Jason Hollins, Megan Hollins, Ashley Hollins, Joshua Hollins, Brandon Nelson, Landon Hollins and Kenadey Green, all of Flint; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Palmer Anderson and Dorothy Spear of Flint; brother, Anthony Buckler of Flint; 4 nieces, Patricia Jones, Andrea Hollins, Frances Stockman, all of Flint, and Courtney Gray of Fourtson, GA; 6 nephews, Jamie Hollins, Charles Stockman, Michael Elliott, Mario Hollins, Terrance Hollins and Christian Hollins; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Ms. Hollins was preceded in death by her parents, Idus H. and Geneva P. Hollins; grandmothers, Lillie Ford and Priscilla Hollins; 3 brothers, Idus Hollins, Jr., Myron Hollins “her twin” and James Hollins; nephew, Carlos Hollins.
