Ms. Margie Avery

AVERY, Ms. Margie - Age 73, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Rev. Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Avery will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Margie L. Avery was born May 12, 1942 in Trenton, Tennessee, the daughter of Ms. Louise Holder. She attended Rosenwald High School where she met the love of her life, Aubrey A. Avery. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1963 and to this union they share 7 children. Margie moved to Flint, Michigan in 1967. She was employed at the Flint Community Schools Lunch Program for many years. Her love for children, lead her to work for Rainbow Learning Center as a Daycare Aide. Margie loved to live life to the fullest, always enjoying spending time with many friends and family. Most of all she enjoyed dancing and having a good time. Mrs. Margie L. Avery leaves to cherish her memory: 5 daughters, Windy G. (Demetric) Avery, Gloria L. (Tom) Avery, Debbie S. Avery, Jacqueline M. (Gerald) Buggs and Theresa C. Avery; 2 sons, Kenny L. (Joyce) Newberry and Michael W. (Demese) Avery; 17 grandchildren, Marcel Strong, Ayana Strong, Zariah Avery, Khalidah Avery, Khalid Avery, all of Flint, Jermaine Carlisle of Houston, TX, Justin Carlisle, Antoine Avery, Antawan Avery, Jerome Buggs, Jaquetta Avery, Stephanie Hall, Jocelin Goosby, Ariana Newberry, Myana Newberry, Michael Avery and Malik Avery; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including, lifelong friend, Pearl M. Jennings of Milwaukee, WI. Mrs. Avery was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey A. Avery; mother, Ms. Louise Holder. The family would like to express special thanks to the Hurley Medical Center 4th Floor staff doctors and nurses, Dr. Syed Ahmed of the Cardiology Institute of Michigan.
