Ms. Margeart Josephine Grayson

GRAYSON, Ms. Margeart Josephine - Age 66, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2109 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Rodney Ellison, Host Pastor. Supt. Victor Adams, Officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Ms. Grayson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., with family present from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday. Ms. Margeart Josephine Grayson was born on March 24, 1949 in Canton, Mississippi the daughter of Lena Mae Thompson and Hosie Lee Sanders. She was the fourth of six children. Margeart accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed being in fellowship when her health was wholesome. Margeart moved to Flint in 1959. She loved children and expressed her love by caring for foster children. Margeart provided Home Care services and loved taking care of others. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and had a green thumb which was displayed by her beautiful plants. Margeart enjoyed singing with her daughter and with the Flint area Gospel group “Gospel FIVE”! She enjoyed having fun with lots of laughter. Ms. Margeart Josephine Grayson leaves to cherish her memory her 2 daughters, Annette (Pastor Victor) Adams and Cassandra (Pastor Rodney) Ellison all of Flint; special daughter and son, Yolanda Evans and Solomon Grayson Jr. both of Southbend, IN; 7 grandchildren, William Duril Jones Jr., Rodney Joshua Ellison Jr., Lauryn Eillison, Victoria Adams, Whitney Adams, Christian Ellison, and Mariah Adams; great-grandson, D’Ereon Jones all of Flint; 4 sisters, Dartha (Wilmer) Badon, Lauree Whitaker, Dorothy Jean Pugh all of Flint, and Delores Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; 5 nieces; 6 nephews; 8 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; 2 great-great-nieces; 6 great-great-nephews all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including best friends, Vera Green, Lucille Sillman, and Sheila Moore; special god-children, Quanieka, JaVontae, Qwinashay, Quaonna, Mario and Damarious Richard. Ms. Margeart Josephine Grayson was preceded in death by her parents, Hosie Lee Sanders and Lena Mae Thompson; brother, Robert L. Brown; grandparents, George and Laurie Day; 8 aunts and uncles; 2 great-nieces and a great-nephew. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Rodney Ellison and the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church family, Pastor Victor Adams and Guiding Light C.O.G.I.C. family, the entire Natchez Dr. family, the Beecher Community, the staff of McLaren Regional Medical Center and McLaren Hospice Care.
