Mrs. Margaret Jefferson

JEFFERSON, Ms. Margaret - Age 84, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at her residence. Ms. Jefferson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Flint, MI and may be viewed Friday, May 1, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mother Margaret L. Jefferson was born August 15, 1935 in Charleston, Missouri, to the late Frank and Alfreda Ingram. She was the fourth of thirteen children. On July 2, 1953, Margaret was united in Holy Matrimony to the late R.D. Jefferson. She was the mother of thirteen children, six sons and seven daughters. She moved her family to Michigan in 1974. Mother Jefferson decided to go back and get her high school diploma, and she accomplished this goal on June 7, 1992. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a devoted, faithful member and sang in the adult choir at Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed her. Mother Jefferson loved, and was committed to her family. She embraced everyone she came into contact with, and was a pleasure to be around. Mother Margaret L. Jefferson leaves to cherish her precious memories: three sons, Charles (Evon) Cassell of Sikeston, Missouri, Michael (Annie) Jefferson of Charleston, Missouri and Dennis Jefferson of Flint, Michigan; seven daughters, Brenda, Alfreda and Deloroes Jefferson, all of Flint, Michigan, Rozena (Ed) Hutchinson III of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Marneka (Eugene) Riley of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Sarah (Anthony) Bell Sr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mona Jefferson of Charleston, Missouri, extended daughter, Tanisha (Nuddie) Ingram; 3 sisters, Rozena (Otha) Howard of Charleston, Missouri, Annie Hamilton of Sikeston, Missouri and Maxine Hill of St. Louis, Missouri; 4 brothers, Donald (Jacqueline) Ingram, Gene (Loretta) Rodgers, all of Charleston, Missouri, Marshall (Mammie) Rodgers of Evanston, Illinois and D.L. (Patricia) Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois; 35 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends. Mother Jefferson was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Jefferson; daughter, Patrichia Cathron; three sons, Alfred James, Frank Stevie and R. D. Jefferson Jr.; two granddaughters, Toccara Jefferson and Nina Johnson; three grandsons, Jamell Jefferson Sr., Dean Thomas Sr. and Ronnie Coleman III; parents, Alfreda and Frank Ingram; step-father, D. L. Rodgers; two sisters, Joann Ingram and Deloroes Blanchard; three brothers, Leroy, Woodrow “Jack’ and Bobby Ray Ingram. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone who played a part in this Glorious Celebration. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
