HOLBROOK, Mr. Marcus L. - Age 20, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2109 M.L. King Ave, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor H.B. Dixson officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mr. Holbrook will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Marcus LaKeith Holbrook was born on August 30, 1985 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Cedric and Jennifer Lynn Holbrook. Marcus was a lifelong resident of Flint. He united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Marcus graduated with honors, while working in the after school program, from Flint Northern High School "Class of 2003." He was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Who's Who American High School Students. He enjoyed playing basketball, swimming, playing pool, chess, and cards with his family and friends. Marcus was very competitive and enjoyed winning. Everyone who met Marcus adored him, because he was impressionable, polite and funny. Marcus loved to laugh and have fun. Mr. Marcus LaKeith Holbrook leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Zariya Whitehead Holbrook of Flint; parent, Cedric (Carolyn) Holbrook of Flint; brother, Cedric R. Holbrook, Jr. of Richmond, VA; nephew, Cameron Holbrook of Richmond, VA; 4 aunts, Tanda Hardman of Fairburn, GA, Cheryl (William) Harrison, Audrey McNeal and Venice, all of Richmond, VA; 4 uncles, Joel (Joyce) McNeal, Jackie McNeal, and Johnny Nelson, all of Flint, Rickey McNeal of Richmond, VA; a host of other relatives including special cousins, Neva (Jimmy) Johnson; special friends, Zeporia, Bocha, Jovan, Antwan, Greg, Thomas, Bo, Q, Sharlene, India, Mona, Khouri, Allen, Phalandis, and Jaquell. Mr. Marcus LaKeith Holbrook was preceded in death by his mother, Jennifer Lynn Holbrook; grandparents, Leroy C. McNeal, Virgina Loretta McNeal and Doris Holbrook; 2 aunts, Sandra and Estell McNeal.
