PETERS, Ms. Marcia - Age 61, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Ms. Peters will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed 12Noon-8 p.m. Tuesday. Ms. Marcia Jean Peters was born August 28, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Eugene and Jessie Mae (Watts) Peters. Ms. Peters was a lifetime resident of Flint, Michigan. She was a member of the Baha’i Faith. She attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Northern High School. Ms. Peters was employed as in the Facilities and Operations Department at the University of Michigan-Flint, and she was a former employee at the Mott Foundation Building. She loved music, singing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Gloria (George) Pittman of Los Angeles, CA, Markeda Johnson of Flint, MI, and Terry Harris of Atlanta, GA; 2 brothers, Mark (Gail) Peters of Lennon, MI and Gilbert (Deborah) Peters of Flint, MI; 10 nieces, Jhena Peters, Ellen Jennings, Renee Scott, Olivia Tinsley, Shelly Davis, Tracey Ani, Kimberly Marable, Marja Childress, Shatrell Childress, and Jamie Peters; 12 nephews, Greg and Grant Pittman, Jeffrey McGowan, Val and Eugene Johnson, Perrie Whaley, Pauley Peters, Alexo Bluford, Martin and Jarred Smith, Chris Black, and Eugene Harris, III; 19 great nieces, 11 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces, 5 great-great nephews; special friend, Victor Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends including, The Holley and Bauman families, Phil & Ida Grapentin, Gwen Robinson, Pam Altheimer, Pamela Howlett, John & Marie Lansdowne, Jetty Chick, and Lillie Herd. Ms. Peters was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Paul, Marion, Alex, Laverne, and Irvin; 2 sisters, Mary Smith and Vivian Whaley; brother-in-law, Val Gene Johnson; and nephew, Victor Allen Johnson.
