WILSON, Mrs. Marcellus - Age 67, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Sr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., with family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday. Sis. Marcellus Wilson was born July 26, 1947, in Albion, Michigan, the daughter of John T. and Mary Stone. She attended Lowell Junior High and Old Northern High Schools. Marcellus was employed by the United States Postal Service retiring after 35 years of service. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Connie L. Wilson, Sr. and to this union four children were born. Sis. Wilson accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and became a faithful and dedicated member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She served for a long time with the Willing Workers, Mission, Church School, Event Planners-Kitchen Committee and the Great Lakes District Woman’s Auxiliary. Sis. Wilson was a gentle and giving spirit and could be counted on to help family and friends when needed. Her love was a like a river, a constant flow. She enjoyed playing soft ball, bowling, puzzles and traveling with her family. Her favorite television shows were “The Young and Restless and General Hospital.” Sis. Marcellus Wilson leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: 2 daughters and 2 sons, Darryl (Virginia) Wilson of South Carolina, Christopher Wilson, Sr. of Texas, Kimberly (Joseph) Williams of Flint and Connie (Ben) Sawadogo of Wixom, MI; honorary daughter, Laura Jones of Flint; grandchildren, Alexis Wilson of Flint, LaShaun Wilson of Detroit, MI, LaToya Wilson of Lansing, MI, Christopher Wilson, Jr. of Flint, Charles Pryor of Virginia, Christal Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN, JaZayia, JaLandis and JaMarion Williams, all of Flint and Donta Hardy of Detroit, MI; great-grandchildren, Charles McFadden, Dionte’ Wilson, Jr, Makala Wilson, Willie Kenebrew, Jr., Kurtis Thompson II, all of Michigan and Abel Samuelu of Hawaii; 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Johnnie Lacy, April Stone, Robert Stone, Wesley (Barbara) Stone, Andrew Stone, all of Flint; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend including special friends, Evelyn Cleaves and Helen Mitchner. Sis. Wilson was preceded in death by her grandson, Dionte’ Wilson, Sr.; parents, John T. and Mary Stone; nephew, Kabrauan Stone; several aunts and uncles; special friend, Minevera.
