JOHNSON, Mrs. Malinda Louise - Age 65, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Ascension Genesys. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Monday, April 27, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Interment sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mrs. Malinda Louise Johnson was born September 16, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Mr. Hamp and Mrs. Ada Mushatt. Malinda later moved to Flint, Michigan where she attended Jefferson Elementary, McKinley Jr. High and Flint Southwestern High School where she graduated. She met and married her husband of 46 years, Freddie Lee Johnson and their union produced 5 children. Malinda was a faithful member of Father, Son, Holy Spirit Church and was employed at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation where she retired after 31 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, bowling and spending time with her friends and grandchildren. Malinda was affiliated with the following organizations: Past Loyal Lady Ruler of Light of Hope Assembly#64, Past Illustrious Commandress of Oman Court #132, Daughter of Isis, State Grand Loyal Lady Guide of Michigan, State Grand Assembly #64, where she was dedicated and served. Mrs. Malinda Louise Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: devoted and loving husband, Freddie Lee Johnson; 2 daughters, Tanisha and Jacqueline of Birmingham, AL; 3 sons, Marcus Hopkins, Freddie Johnson Jr. and Tremaine Johnson; 4 sisters, Carline Bailey, Karen, Sarah and Sonya Mushatt; 5 brothers, Hamp Mushatt, Reginald Stennis, all of Flint, Charles, Eric and Robert Mushatt, all of Birmingham, AL; 5 sisters-by-marriage, Alma Solomon of Detroit, special sister-in-law, Sharon (Jesse) Nicholson of Yellow Bluff, AL, Flora (Melvin) Norfleet, Patria Waldrop and Jacqueline Foster, all of Birmingham, AL; 3 brothers, Lee Thomas of Yellow Bluff, AL, special brother-in-law, Randall (Amanda) Johnson of Flint and Darryl (Fran) Johnson of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends including special friends, Velma Jean Caudle, Ernestine Simms, Pastor Cheryl Wilson and Dolly Brow of Pontiac, MI. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Johnson; mother, Ada Lee Mushatt; father, Hamp Mushatt; grandmother, Effie Mae Stennis; sister, Effie Mae Mushatt; brothers, Eddie, Sandy and Stefon Mushatt.
