Mrs. Mae Ella Jordan

JORDAN, Mrs. Mae Ella - Age 81, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at True Temple of God Ministries, 1802 Utah Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12 :00 PM Pastor Napoleon Tyler III officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday, Mrs. Jordan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Mae E. Jordan passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the age of 81 years. She was born December 11, 1934 in Decatur, Mississippi, the daughter of John and Ozella Buckley. Mae graduated from Decatur High School in 1954. She went on to pursue a degree in Cosmetology in 1956 from Cosmetology School. In 1954 Mae was united in marriage to Henry Earl Jordan. Mae went on and graduated from Mott Community College in 1970 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was one of the founders of Foss Avenue Baptist Church in 1960. Later Mae joined True Temple of God Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Napoleon Tyler III. Mae was a devout Christian all her life. Mrs. Mae E. Jordan leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Phyllis (Jimmie) Watt; two sons, Henry (Mary) Jordan and Earl Arrington; step-daughter, Deloris (Charles) Branch; grandchildren, Aaron Clay Jordan, Henry Leron Jordan III, Quinn Cordell Nix, Jimmie Ray Watt, Jr, and Jamia Kay Watt; great-granddaughter, Amina Sunshine Jordan; sister, Michelle Tisdell; brother, John Buckley; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Jordan and Dorcas Buckley, all of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Herbert McIntosh of Flint, MI, William Gerald Jordan of Oregon and Paul Tisdell of Chicago, IL; nieces, Michelline Smith, Daina Smith, Erin Tisdell, Brianna Tisdell, Christine Watt and Tanya Buckley; nephew, Maurice Tisdell; cousins, Charlotte Thames and Eddie (Daisy) Morris Wansley, all of Chicago, IL; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Earl Jordan; parents, John and Ozella Buckley, and Janie Buckley; grandparents, Clarence Thames, Carrie Thames, and Arthur Buckley (Catherine); sister, Jessie Mae Buckley; brother, Fredrick Carl Buckley.
