TWINE, Mr. Mack, Jr. - Age 58, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with the memorial service at 11 a.m.. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral Home 10:30 a.m. Friday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Mack Twine, Jr. was born April 29, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mack C. Sr. and Helena Twine. Mack accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Mr. Twine was a life-long Michigan resident and was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Flint Southwestern Colts. He attended Texas Southern University, and was a founding member of Groove Phi Groove in his freshman year. Mack was knowledgeable on a variety of subjects including Greek and Latin. He was an avid Bible reader and scholar, particularly in the Old Testament. Mack loved music and spent a number of years as a concert promoter bringing such acts as The Temptations, The Dramatics and War. He was an outstanding chess player, sci-fi movie and astronomy buff, skilled handyman, and Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. Mack was a gifted businessman and held a number of positions throughout his career. He most recently worked at AARP in Flint. He leaves behind in God’s care: son, Matthew R. Twine of Seattle, WA; brother, and best friend, Michael Twine of Flint; 3 sisters, Yvonne Simms of Houston, TX, Lamerle Morgan and Marilyn Twine, both of Flint; beloved nieces and nephews, Nate, Sabrina, Neicy, Allan, DO, Mario and Marissa; aunt, Willa Wilson of Houston, TX; cousin, Darwin Beatty of Detroit; brother-in-law, Herman Morgan of Flint; life-long friends, Nickie Morgan, Marty Monroe, April Shavers and family, Martin Pierce, Mrs. Lina Hall and family and Pierre; a host of other relatives and friends survive. Mr. Twine was preceded in death by his father (2002); mother, (2009); and brother. The family would like to extend special thanks to Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle and Usher Board, Great Lakes District Usher Board, New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, International Mason and Order of Easter Star and Rev. Harry Prince. Mack was our Shining Star. All of our love, until we meet.
