Mr. Mac Davis Jr.

DAVIS, Mr. Mac Jr. - Age 64, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Vermont Christian Church, 1202 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Andre Powell Sr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Mr. Mac “MC” Davis, Jr. made his transition on January 14, 2016. He was born on October 23, 1951 in Ovett, Mississippi, the son of Mac Davis, Sr. and Florence Davis. Mac committed his life to Christ at an early age. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School, “Class of 1969.” He married the love of his life, Mary Davis on September 30, 1989. Mac was known for his skillful carpentry. He loved to travel and particularly enjoyed cruises. Mac also loved good movies and music; of which he often shared his collections. He was a diehard fan of the Detroit Pistons, Tigers, and Lions whether they won or lost. Mac was fond of sweaters and hats and had a large collection of them for which he was often teased by his family. Most of all, he loved to fellowship with family and friends. He was often known to host fish-fries at his home in order to bring family and friends together. Mac was a good friend to all, and would lend a listening ear when needed and always gave advice that came from life experiences. Mr. Mac “MC” Davis, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: loving and caring wife of 26 years, Mary Davis; daughter, Angela Davis, both of Flint; 2 step-sons, Claudell (Monica) Ruffin, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI and Darnell (Alexis) Ruffin of Flint; grandchildren, Tyresha Younger, D’Asia Suggs, Calah Ruffin, Isaiah Ruffin, Blake Ruffin and Xavier Ruffin; great-granddaughter, Lola Younger; father, Mac (Tommie) Davis, Sr.; sisters, Ella Thompson of Union City, GA, Edith Davis-Wenger and Patricia Collins, both of Flint; brothers, Johnnie (Arvinell) Davis of Grand Blanc, MI, Darnell (Valerie) Davis of Powder Springs, GA, Kenneth (Beatrice) Davis of Flint and Tyrone Davis of Troy, MI; nieces, Stacey (Patrick) Jones of Fairburn, GA, Nikko Davis of Flint, Trinna (Larry) Brown of Rex, GA, Elise (Johnnie) Howard of Conyers, GA, Toni Davis of Flint and Delilah Lenton of Orlando, FL; nephews, Khrishon (Kendra) Davis of Davison, MI, Randy (Tanesha) Davis and Destin Davis; mother-in-law, Roxianna Moore, all of Flint; brothers-in-law, Reginald Ferguson of Decatur, GA, Howard (Geraldine) Moore and Samuel Moore, both of Flint; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Kenneth) Hampton, Sr., Roseann (Bruce) Jones and Doretha (Larry) Morris, all of Flint; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Andrew Blacknold and Bruce Jones. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his mother, Florence L. Davis; grandparents, Jack and Mary Hyde, Green and Ella Davis; sister, Ruby Davis-Ferguson; aunt, Ruby Scott; uncles, Louis Sheffield, George Hampton, C.W. Davis; nephew, Rodney Lenton.
