Mrs. Lura Dean Williams

WILLIAMS, Mrs. Lura Dean- Age 79, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Kingdom Hall-Jehovah Witness, 2211 Stedron St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Brother Houston Turner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the kingdom hall at 10 a.m. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Lura Dean Williams was born November 23, 1935 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, the daughter of Ossie and Henrietta (Spicer) Nunn. She attended Cotton Plant Vocational High School in Cotton Plant, AR. Lura was a member of the Western Hills Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. She enjoyed preaching and teaching everywhere she went, she enjoyed offering hope and relief to others. Lura was married to Arthur Williams for 53 years. She loved her children, husband, family, plants and her spiritual family. Mrs. Lura Dean Williams leaves to cherish her memory: 5 daughters, Linda L. Williams, Darice Berry, Jolanda Richard, Sonya M. Williams and Elois Williams; son, Arthur A. Williams, all of Flint; grandchildren, Raymond Williams, Robert Williams, DeAndre Williams, Sr., Sequoia (Curtis) Jones, Andre’a Richard, Gejuan Campbell, Alondon Richard, Sierra Williams, Marcus Williams, Kevin Roberts II, Kierra Roberts, Kalen Williams-Grady, Kennedy Grady, Ariana Johnson and Aeron Williams; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Lee Simmons, Norma Gloston and Iola (Rudolph) Philson; 2 brothers, Ossie Nunn, Jr. and Freddie L. (Patricia) Nunn; sister-in-law, Vera (Bill) Clardy; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Doretha Wilson, Lonnie (Renee) Sawyer, Mary Kelly, Ollie Johnson, Faye Morgan, Shirley Hoilet, Dernice Douglas, Bertha Harris and Robert and Lois Hairston. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Williams; granddaughter, Naquoia Overstreet; parents, Ossie Nunn and Henrietta Nunn-Govan; sister; Katie Mae Nunn; brothers, L.R. Nunn, Robert L. Nunn, Chester Nunn, Waymon Nunn and Otis Nunn; daughter-in-law, Corliss Williams.
