PHILLIPS, Mrs. Lula F. (Brezzell) Anderson - Age 90, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Charles R. Osborne III, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Phillips will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. LULA FRANCES (BREZZELL) ANDERSON-PHILLIPS, age 90 departed this life on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc (Compassus Hospice). She was the second issue born to the union of David and Martha Brezzell in Flint, Michigan on October 22, 1931. Lula graduated from Flint Central High School at the age of 16 in 1947, Lula attended Oakwood Academy in Huntsville, AL and Penn State University in State College, PA. Lula lived a life of fulfillment, first as a mother, a worker, and an outstanding curator of antiquities. She was employed at General Motors, Ternstedt Division for 36 years. Upon retirement she continued her career in antiques until her health declined. Lula was a member of Fairhaven Seventh-day Adventist Church (Formally North Street S.D.A. Church) for over 80 years. During her 55 years in the antique world, she cultivated loyal friends and extended family throughout the United States and Canada. Lula will always be remembered for her famous German chocolate cake and awesome cheesecakes. All who knew her will remember her for her gift of gab. Lula had a heart of gold, always extending kindness to those in need. A product of Christian Education, she supported the cause through her contributions, gifts as well as her efforts. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her sons: Clarence Anderson Sr., of Flint, MI, David (Mheret) Phillips of Duluth, MN. Her daughters: Frances A. Campbell of Warren, MI and Courtney Rae Phillips of Grand Blanc, MI (Darryl D. Johnson of Flint, MI). Grandchildren: Clarence Anderson, Jr., of Flint, MI, Nathaniel McKinstry Jr. (Dominique Brown), of Warren MI, and Brandon (Bonnie) Phillips of Texas and Alysia Rae Campbell of Warren, MI. Bonus Grandchildren: Juiwana “Nikki”Pickett of Flint, MI and Jessie (Arisha) Owens of Hanover Park, IL, Sister: Carolyn Brezzell of Flint MI, Sister-in-laws: Joyce Brezzell of Detroit, MI and Roberta Brezzell of Belleville, MI. 5 Great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including lifelong special friends: Lottie Harris, William “Bill” Miller, Othella Buckner, Jerry Beaty, Connie Dobson and Jessie Adams. Former daughter-in-law and friend, Cydney Rax. Like daughters: Janet Renee “Nay Nay” Deshazor, Dominick “Mickey”Gale, Cynthia Forward and Verna Venessa Cobb. Lula Phillips was preceded in death by her parents David and Martha Brezzell, by her brothers David and John Brezzell and sister Marie McBrayer.
