WILLIAMS, Ms. Lucille - Age 55, slipped quietly away, God called her from labor to rest with her children by her side, Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith, G-4171 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Eld. Kenneth Brown, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Friday. Ms. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday during family hour only. Ms. Lucille “Nan” Williams was born on May 16, 1954 in Kankakee, Illinois, the third of four children born to Willie and Mammie Lee Williams. Lucille graduated from Eastridge High, later finishing her education at Mott Community College in Flint, MI., where she received certification as a licensed CENA, along with certifications in Electrocardiography and Phlebotomy. Feeling a yearning in her heart, she knew the Lord had a purpose for her. In pursuit of a better life for herself and her children, she made the decision to relocate to Flint, MI. Being introduced to the Apostolic Doctrine, her faith began to grow. Lucille was baptized at Bethlehem Temple Church, later receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, casting her membership with Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith, under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth M. Brown, Sr. A devoted mother of five daughters and one son, Lucille shared her love with many. They were touched by her kind words, wisdom and loving arms. She was a prayer warrior that taught her children in the ways of holiness and loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. Lucille enjoyed talking about the goodness of Jesus and the wonderful things he did in her life. She was an avid gardener, and loved the beauty of nature. Cooking was one of her well-known expertise. Lucille enjoyed interior decorating and caring for children, which to her were special angels: Whitney and Karanja White, Moriah Brooks, Cortez “Nemo” Scales Jr., Lareka White and Ronald Holstrum. Lucille was an excellent MOTHER always knowing the perfect words of encouragement to enlighten your day, giving you that extra boost, making you feel you could conquer the world. To know her was to love her, to love her was to have an exceptional friend, sister, aunt, daughter, and MOTHER. Her sweet presence will be missed but her loving legacy will forever live in our hearts. Ms. Lucille “Nan” Williams leaves to cherish in her precious memories her devoted children: 5 daughters, La’Ketra R. Hagler, Kor’yona C. Hagler, Ba’Kea N. Hagler (Samuel Booker), Codeona T. Williams, and Lenia B. Williams; son, Markshaun A. Williams, all of Flint; mother, Mammie Lee Williams; sister, Mary Nell (Larry) Walker, all of Kankakee, IL; 2 brothers, Elijah Williams of Flint and Willie (Ida M.) Williams of Kankakee, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special to heart, Cherri, Cameo, Joy, Larry R., Larry C., Zahnaya, Midasia, K’myah, Nevaeh’a, DaJuan, Donna, Marcus J., Mikhail, Raushana, Rasheika, Latoya, Jermaine, Leon, Elijah Jr.,Deshawn, Rose, Bethany, Vanessa, Ebony, Cyrus, Ben, Mark, Gideon (Linetta), Wendell (Mary), W.C., Margueritta (LySander) and special friend, Regina White. Ms. Lucille Williams was preceded in death by her son, Mar’won Nefis Nasar Hagler; loving father, Willie Williams; grandparents; uncle and aunt, Henry and Cora Williams; along with a host of other aunts and uncles. The family would like to express special thanks to Elder Kenneth M. Sr. and Juliet Brown and the Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith family, Cynthia and Margo, Dr. Osama and the Hurley Medical Center staff, Wal-Mart of Hartland, MI and a host of many others.
