MCMULLAN, Ms. Lucille - Passed away July 18, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at Vermont Christian Center, 1201 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Andre Powell, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Ms. McMullen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., with family present from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday. Ms. Lucille Louise (Jones) McMullan made her transition on July 18, 2015, fighting a courageous battle after surgery complications. She was the second child of Solomon and Willie Bell Jones. Lou, which is what we called her, graduated from Flint Central High School and upon graduation she was employed at General Motors AC Spark Plug until she retired in 1991 with 38 years of service, and was an active member of Local 651.She was a devoted and faithful member of Vermont Christian Church where she served on the Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee. She worshipped and prayed fervently, being an example to all those around her. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Lou was known as “Granny” by many because of her great love of children. "Lou" leaves to cherish her loving memory son, Vanthony (Gloria) McMullan of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter, Roxanne Pringle of Flint, Michigan; grandsons, Jared Johnson of Seattle, Washington, Eddie PringleIII and Jawaun Jones of Flint Michigan, Antwan (Shanta) McMullan, of Canton Michigan, Malcolm McMullan of Grand Rapids; granddaughters, Jacquetta Jones of Flint, Michigan and Morgan McMullan of Grand Rapids; sisters, Shirley Murray and Judith Nolden; nephews, Bryant (BB) and Corey Nolden nieces; Shirletta Murray, Lanita Marion, Rhea Jones and Darlene DeShazor; nine great grandchildren, several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives including the Hawkins, McMullan and Pippen families, and friends Edith, Diane, Ruth, Minnie, Jessie, Hattie, and too many others to list. "Lou" was preceded in death by her parents, son Walter McMullan Jr, brother William Jones, two brother-in-laws and one nephew. The family would like to express special thanks and gratitude to Pastor Andr’e Powell and the congregation of Vermont Christian Church D.O.C and the 5th Floor Burn Unit Medical Staff of Hurley Hospital Flint, Michigan, for their outstanding care and concern. Words cannot express the heartfelt gratitude for the many family and friends who tirelessly visited the hospital daily, those who sat with us in the waiting room and the many calls of support, well wishes and prayers.
