BEASLEY, Mrs. Lucile "Baby Girl" - Age 67, passed away Friday, December 23, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30PM Friday, December 30, 2005 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30PM Friday. Mrs. Beasley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Lucille J. Beasley "Baby Girl" was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 22, 1938, the daughter of Brady and Lula Bell Beasley. She attended Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, IN. In 1968, Lucile and her four children moved to Flint. She became a member of True Temple Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jessie Gaines. She was employed at Chevrolet as a Sanitation worker, retiring after 21 years of service. Mrs. Beasley was a member of Beaulah Chapter O.E.S. #2 and the Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter, The Orders of Amaranth, Lady Knights, Heroin of Jericho and Roses of Seven Seals. Lucile, sometimes called, "Lucy the Overseer," was a hard working single parent who provided for her children and never asked for any help. She enjoyed helping, loving and being with her family who she dearly loved. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, music and the holidays. Mrs. Lucile J. "Baby Girl" Beasley will be sadly missed by: 2 sons, Kenneth (Brenda) Kendrick and Robert (Jill) Kendrick; 2 daughters, Deborah (Kelvin) Shaw and Chari (Timothy) Jones; 7 grandchildren, April Brown, Jameelah Beasley, Jalica and James Lee, Jac'kell Reed, Cynai Jones and Kemisha Brown; 3 great-grandchildren; very special niece, Geraldine Strozier; 3 brothers, William (Mary) Marks, Robert, and Donald (Carolyn Hollowell) Beasley; fiancÚ, John Phelps III; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including special friends, Tommiezine Robinson, Leo McClain, Frank Jones, Margerite and John Phelps III, Bernice Gardner, the Brown Family, Freeman McDonald and Connie Brown Walton. Mrs. Lucile Beasley was preceded in death by her parents, Brady and Lula Beasley; sister, Willie B. Beasley; 3 sisters-in-law, Bobbie, Sarah and Blanche Beasley; and great-great nephew, Terrell Maurice Duncan.
