Mrs. Lovie Hampton

HAMPTON, Mrs. Lovie - Age 84, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Full Gospel Christian Church, 5901 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Dr. James Wheeler Pastor, Pastor Janice McHaney officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Hampton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Lovie Hampton was born October 24, 1931 in Brinkley, Arkansas, the daughter of Johnnie and Evelyn Perkins. She was a resident of Flint and a member of N.O.W. Ministries. Lovie attended high School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She moved to Flint in 1955, where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide and Private Duty Nurse. Mrs. Hampton enjoyed plants, baking, cooking and large holiday family dinners. She was also a strong prayer warrior. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Richard Lee Hampton of Flint; 4 daughters, Dyan Hampton-Aytch, Alfreda Hampton, Nichole Hampton and Paula (Jerry) Latimore; 3 sons, Larry Hampton, Anthony Hampton, and Randall (Patricia) Hampton; grandchildren, Anthony Jourdan, Jamila(Latawn) Crocker, Javin Latimore, Alexander Olech, Kyle Hampton, Kyler Latimore, Tariq Smith and Jamal Smith; great-grandchildren, Kadijah Hampton, Joshua Hampton, Tyler Neeley, Ny’esha Miller, Ny’jeah Minor, Katera House, Taliyah House, Jayden and Jaqualin Jourdan; nieces, Rose Finney of Clio, MI, Renell Echols, Janice(Freddie) Mothany, all of Flint; nephews, Mulondo Echols and Angelo Echols, both of Flint; cousin, Willie Perkins of Fort Worth, TX; sisters-in-law, Berniece Smith of California and Donna Reed of Jonesboro, AR; brothers-in-law, Logan (Lena) Hampton of Pine Bluff, AR and Joseph (Pearl) Hampton of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Carol Stephens, Elaine Conner and Stevie Matthews. Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by her sons, Lawrence and Kelvin Hampton; parents, Evelyn Echols and Johnnie Perkins; twin brother, Love Hampton, sister Gertrude Echols; cousin Pecola Rhodes; sisters-in-law, law Sadie Fulmore, Anna May Riggins and Patricia Ross; brother-in-law, Johnnie Hampton.
