BROWN, Mrs. Louise – Age 89, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Goodman Cox officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mother Louise Georgia Brown was “born on the river,” March 16, 1924 in Renalara, Mississippi, the daughter of Clara Robinson and Alfred Williams. She moved to Clayton, MS, in 1938. There she met and married Booker Donaldson, to this union three children were born; Lossie Mae, J.T. and Delores. Mother Brown was baptized at Kyles Chapel AME Church, where Reverend Sanders was the pastor. She moved to Memphis, TN on July 3, 1945, while there, she joined Enon Springs Baptist Church, where Reverend Bess was the Pastor. Mother Brown was a member of Eastern Stars Diamond Chapter #123. To know her was to love her, always a kind word, always pleasant and very fond of children. Mother Brown left this message for all of us “I lived a happy life, a good life and thank God for it. Don’t cry for me, just pray to come to where I am. Treat everybody right and live a happy life.” Mother Louise Brown leaves to cherish her memories: 2 daughters, Lossie Woodley of Flint and Delores Byrd of Indianapolis, IN; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends including nieces, Willie Mae Davis of Flint; Barbara Dunbar of Houston, TX; and Kutura Wright of Sioux Falls, SD and nephew, Ralph Williams of Memphis, TN. Mother Louise Brown was preceded in death by parents, Clara Robinson, and Alfred Williams; son, J.T. Donaldson; sister, Lucinda Williams; brothers, Alfred Williams, Willie Williams and Henry Williams and niece, Juanita Lee. The family would like to express special thanks to Grace Hospice and staff, the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home Staff and all family and friends.
