Mrs. Louise Therese Anthony

ANTHONY, Mrs. Louise Therese - Age 73, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital-McLaren. Family hour 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Father Tom Firestone officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Anthony will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Louise T. Anthony was born June 19, 1945 in Calverton Long Island, New York, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Angelo and Althea Toscano. She was a resident of Flint, MI and a member of St. John Vianney for 11 years. Louise graduated from Riverhead High School in Riverhead, NY class of 1963. She furthered her education by pursuing and obtaining a bachelor’s degree from one of the local universities. She was employed with Delphi Flint East and retired after 30 years of service as a Supervisor. Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Mrs. Louise and Mr. George Anthony, IV (Flint, MI) celebrated 50 golden years as husband and wife. They enjoyed traveling and seeing the world together as a couple and with their family. Everywhere the two of them traveled, daughter-Gwen and son-in-law Greg Dunlap (Flint, MI); son-Paul Anthony (Holly, MI); daughter-Dr. Janet Anthony (Flint, MI); daughter-Chasity and son-in-law Toby O’Connell (Dubai, United Arab Emirates); son-George Anthony, V (Flint, MI) were in attendance. As the years progressed, Granny/Aunt “Lou’s” legacy enlarged leaving a host of precious memories of time spent with-Gregory Q., Blake E., Marcus G., Drew P. Dunlap; Morgan Anthony; Zara, Solomon, Harrison O’Connell; Brendan M. Anthony and special niece-Mrs. Jessica L. (Anthony) Bryson. Louise was passionate about servitude and education. She was always on a mission to help someone in need. When she was not physically serving, she spent time educating herself and others through the Lay Order Carmelite. As a member of this organization, she held the position of librarian. Her love for the Carmelites prompted her to be an instrumental apostle to establishing new Carmelite groups across the State of Michigan where she held the position Interim President. She was a lifelong learner of her faith. She studied the history of the Catholic Church at Marion Institute in Detroit, MI receiving a Certificate of Achievement upon completion. Mrs. Louise T. Anthony leaves to treasure her memory: sister-Edda (Ben) Dosiak; brother-Anthony (Theresa) Toscano; and brother-Angelo (Angela) Toscano, all of Long Island, New York; sister-in-law JoAnn (Sam) Blake; and sister-in-law Ms. Maryann Cox; god-daughter-Tara (Michael) Johnson-Claxton; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; special friends Mozella Bogan and Brenda Dunn. Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angelo and Althea Toscano; father-in-law and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Moses and Josephine Anthony; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Matthew and Susie Anthony; brother-in-law(s) Louis Anthony and Arthur Lowry; sister-in-law(s) Sarah Bailey, Adele Hill, and Francis Hill and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and staff of McLaren ICU, Select Specialty Hospital, Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home; Father Tom Firestone and St. John Vianney Catholic Church family.
