WILLIS, Mrs. Lottie Elaine - Age 83, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006 at her residence. Family hour 11AM Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Civic Heights Church of God In Christ, 3610 Wisner St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Eld. Samuel Marsh, Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 11AM Thursday. Mrs. Willis now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM today. Mrs. Lottie Elaine Willis was born June 30, 1923 in Bowling Green, Missouri, the daughter of Rev. Martin Luther and Samella Estler Jackson. Lottie attended school in Love Joy, IL until graduating. Mrs. Willis later met and married Joe "Whistling Willie" Willis, after marriage they moved to Flint. To this union two children were born Joseph William Willis Jr. and Elaine Marie Willis. Lottie was employed at Dough Boy Donut Bakery and Stevens Cafeteria, and then hired in at A.C. Spark Plug a Division of General Motors Corporation for 32 years before retiring. She was a very family oriented person, she loved cooking for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the rest of her family. Mrs. Willis loved fishing, picnicing, going on trips and to theaters. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Mrs. Lottie Elaine Willis leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Elaine Marie Stokes and Brenda Brown; stepdaughter, Arletta Sylmon; stepson, Nelson Roberts Jr.; grandchildren, Marcus (Nicole) Willis of Flint, TaJuana (Chester) Cadell-Stokes of Pontiac, MI, Treea Simone Brown of Detroit, MI, Sharon Joyner of Arlington, TX, Joshua (LaQuendra) Brown, Tiakisha Gardner and Joseph Willis III all of Flint; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Myrtle Underwood; 1 sister in-law, Cathryn Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends and relatives, granddaughter, Shardae Stokes, Elder. Jack and Doris Mitchell, Randy Underwood Sr., Randy Underwood Jr., and Raymond Underwood. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents, Rev M.L. Jackson and Mother Samella Jackson; son, Joseph Willis Jr.; grandson, Jeffery Stokes; great-granddaughter, Treea Stokes; great-grandson, Christopher Cadell. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center (Oncology), Heartland Home Hospice nurses and her doctors.
