Mrs. Lottie Rene Grant

GRANT, Mrs. Lottie Rene - Age 84, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Antioch Missionary "Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph Host Pastor, Rev. Dennis Grant officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Grant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Lottie R. Grant was born November 22, 1932 in Knoxubee, MS, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Aloys (Clark) Bell. She made her transition Friday, March 17, 2017 at her residence. Lottie came to Flint after graduating from George Washington High School in Tupelo, MS. She met and later married George F. Grant. They owned and operated Grant’s Grocery for over 30 years. Lottie joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. W. Pryor. Her church involvement included being a Sunday School Teacher, Usher Board and Choir Member, and she served on the Nurses Guild. Lottie enjoyed being a member of the Thursday Afternoon Club and the Bel-Air Block Club Association. Mrs. Lottie R. Grant leaves to cherish her memory; husband of 61 years, George F. Grant; daughters, Marilyn F. Grant of Denver, CO, and Debra A. Grant of Flint; son, George F. Grant III of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Brittany D. Grant of Houston, TX and Alexander F.
