Lottie Baker

BAKER, Ms. Lottie - Age 59, was called home Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. (Those of you who knew Lottie know formal attire not necessary - come as you are). Family hour 1:30PM Friday, June 22, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with Memorial Service commencing immediately at 2PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Friday Ms. Lottie Mae Baker was born June 17, 1948 in Magnolia, Arkansas, to Andrew Lee and Dottie Mae (French) Baker. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Zion Westside Baptist Church in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Flint Northern High School "Class of 1966." Lottie was best known for her love of family, working in her yard, and celebrating her birthday several times a year. Her career was spent at Michigan Bell where she retired in February of 1999. Ms. Lottie Mae Baker leaves to cherish her memories: her only child "her love, her life, her pain", Eshe LaJoyce Baker; parents, Glen and Dottie Johnson; 2 sisters, Lettie M. Baker and Karen V. Hairston; 4 brothers, Saundrell L. (Raye) Baker, Wallace F. Baker of Atlanta, GA, Johnnie R. Baker and Dennis R. Baker; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends including best friends, Earnestine (Gordon) Hudson, and Connie Hutchins. Ms. Lottie Mae Baker was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Lee Baker; grandparents, Henry and Sarah French and Corrine Phillips; 5 aunts, Beatrice French, Cathrine Gilbert, Henrietta French, Athalean Carter and special aunt and confidant, Olene Henderson; 2 uncles, Napolean Newton and Van Newton. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of Hurley Medical Center Burn Unit, Mildred Johnson, Tracy Newton-Palmer, and Plante, Moran and Foss Avenue Baptist Church family. Many thanks to family and friends for all their thoughts and prayers. Momma, Lottie, Auntie Lottie, Ms. Lottie, Ms. Baker, or Ma Baker, whatever you may have called her, she leaves a wealth of children of all ages that she loved, respected, raised, and treated like her own. To all her "children and grandchildren," you'll never know what your relationship meant to her. If she could share one phrase with you it would be "Give your loved ones their roses while they are here on earth."
