WILKERSON, Mr. Lorenzo R. - Age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Dallas, TX. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025, at New Testament Church, 3483 S. Belsay Rd., Burton, MI with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Rev. Kevin Galloway, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025. Mr. Wilkerson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, February 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Lorenzo Roderick Wilkerson was born in Jonesville, Louisiana on April 17, 1954, to George and Florence (Langley) Wilkerson. Lorenzo was baptized at a young age at New Zion Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan. He was a faithful participant in his men’s prayer group. Lorenzo was a proud wildcat and graduate of Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1972.” Lorenzo was a jack of all trades, working for many corporations over the course of his life. He was employed as a Supervisor for General Motors Corporation. Lorenzo served on the Board of Education, and was a Regional Manager for many hotel chains including Holiday Inn and Motel 6. Lorenzo was an avid sports fan and loved the Detroit Lions. Lorenzo was known for his love of helping and mentoring others. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Lorenzo enjoyed music, fishing, bowling, playing dominoes, and taking road trips. Mr. Lorenzo Roderick Wilkerson leaves to cherish his memory: his three children, Demarcus Wilkerson of Alexandria, LA, Lorenzo Wilkerson Jr., and Marcedes Wilkerson, both of Flint, MI; adopted son, Stanquan Williams of Dallas, TX; five brothers, Danny (Aneta) Wilkerson of Flint, MI, Alarie Wilkerson of Jonesville, LA, Maurice Wilkerson of Jackson, MS, Keith Wilkerson and Joseph Wilkerson, both of Grand Rapids, MI; one sister, Beverly Wilkerson-Woods of Flint, MI; special cousin/brother, Roy (Gloria) Shavers of Flint, MI; special grandson, Derrick (Patrice) Talton of Alexandria, LA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his loving wife Belinda Wilkerson, mother, Florence Wilkerson; father, George Wilkerson; brother Karl Wilkerson; niece, Nitika Wilkerson; and grandson, Lorenzo Wilkerson III.
