WASHINGTON, Ms. Linda Faye - Age 63, passed away Monday November 10, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center – Briarwood. Family Hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 15, 2014 at Heavenly Host Baptist Church, 2202 W. Dartmouth Street with funeral service commencing promptly at 11:00 a.m. Elder Lequin William Sr. officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Ms. Linda Faye Washington will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday November 14, 2014 with family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Ms. Linda Faye Washington was born August 21, 1951 in Altheimer, Arkansas, the daughter of Eula Mae Washington. She was a resident of Flint, MI and was an active member of Heavenly Host Baptist Church serving in the Choir, on the Nurses Guild and had served on the Security Team. Her passion was singing for the Lord with the Heavenly Host Choir and the City Wide Gospel Choir. She graduated from Flint Northern High School and held various positions throughout the years. Linda Faye loved spending time with family and was a helpful hand to anyone that needed it. She gave freely of her time and of herself. She was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Ms. Linda Faye Washington leaves to cherish her memory: 3 grandchildren, Najee Washington of Georgia, Jela Washington of Texas and DeMarcus Washington of Flint; 1 great grandchild, Ayden Washington; sisters, Debra A. Washington, Carolyn J. McClendon and Benita L. Smith; 1 brother, Deacon Theodis Smith Jr. of the Grand Blanc and Flint area; 2 nieces, Trina T. Washington of Detroit and Shevera L. Smith of Florida; 1 nephew, Dr. Jamal (Jada) McClendon of Illinois; 1 great-nephew, Christopher E. Moss of Flint; 1 uncle, Carl Vault Sr. of Little Rock, Arkansas; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including her extended family at the Slidell Senior Citizens Apartment Complex. Ms. Linda Faye Washington was preceded in death by her son, Jerome Allen Washington; and mother; Eula Mae (Washington) Smith. The family would like to express special thanks to the McClaren Hospice staff, Jania Brooks (Hospice Nurse) and the nurses at McClaren-Flint 11 South. Thank you to Oncologist Dr. T.T. Singh. A special thank you to Bishop M.C. Aikins, Elder Laquin Williams Sr. and the entire Heavenly Host family.
