Mrs. Linda Sue Hyman

HYMAN, Mrs. Linda - Age 71, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at Living Joy Assisted Living. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2023, at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Carl Baker, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Hyman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. A Public visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Linda Sue Hyman of Columbus, Ohio was born October 17, 1951 to the late Nettie Mae West (Cleveland) and John W. Thaggard (Christine). She was the eldest daughter and is survived by her brother Danny Andrew Thaggard (Frankei), and her sisters Linda J. Green, Doretha Ann Berry, Yvonne Miles (Kevin); nieces Allecia Thaggard, Jenae’ Elizabeth Garcia (Daniel), Jeanette Angela Jones, Natalie Grace Agnew (Christian), Jacquelyn Renee Miles, and Nia Simone Berry, nephews Danny Andrew Thaggard and Nathan Anthony Berry; devoted aunts Jettie Lee Crook, Fairy Lee Jordan (Wade), god-daughter, Mia McGee and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. Linda graduated from West High School and attended Franklin University. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master Degree from Central Michigan University. Linda began working for General Motors Corporation (GM) in 1979 in Flint Michigan until she retired in 2002. While working at GM she was introduced to the love of her life, Randy Hyman of 36 years by a mutual friend. Linda gained and extended family by that union which included: the late Henry and Elizabeth Hyman; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hyman and Eloise Wingfield (Maurice); brother-in-law, Carver Hyman; devoted uncle, Philmore Artis; nieces, Antoinette Harris (Everton), Monica Wingfield, Marcia Hill (James), Lauren Brookins, and Leslie Jones (Curtis); nephews, Doretha Ann Berry, Andre Hyman (Mable), Lee Alvin Beamon Jr, Eric Hyman (Venise), Lester Beamon, and Jarryd Brookins; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and good friends, Linda Williams, Earlene Hill, Alberta Williams, Barbara Beasley, Earl and Betty Gilcreast, Hattie Moore, Shirley Tolbert and countless others. Linda received Christ as her personal savior at Wayne Avenue Church of God in Columbus, Ohio. She was a fervent prayer warrior and was known to always pray for you before you got off the phone with her. She often quoted her favorite song “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand”. She was a member of Westwood Church of God where she married Randy. Later she moved her membership (along with her husband) to New Creation Church of God where she remained until God called her home. Linda was one of the founding charter members of the Nu Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. that was chartered on May 21, 1977 at Franklin University. Linda was a dedicated lifetime member that served in many capacities over the years in the Flint Alumnae Chapter.Before her illness she was an avid golfer and enjoyed extensive traveling and cruising. She loved her family dearly and was a special aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Ms. Threasa Cason, Momma Diane Anderson and the staff at Loving Joy Assisted Living Home for providing great care and comfort to Linda over the years.
