MASSIE, Mrs. Lillie Mae - Age 72, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Briarwood Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Massie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Lillie Mae Massie was born June 6, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Curtis and Francis Jackson. She was a long time resident of Burton, MI. Lillie grew up in Pine Bluff where she attended and completed her high school education. She had a heart of gold. If someone needed something and she had it, she would give it to them. You could not find a more loving person than Lillie. She enjoyed socializing and playing cards with her family. Lillie had a strong love for all of her family. She had a special love for her son, Charles and her grandchildren, Tameka, Charles and Dave. Mrs. Lillie Mae Massie leaves to cherish her memory son, Charles Evans; 3 step-children, Robert (Cheryl) Massie, Tony (Pam) Massie, and Maria Massie; foster children, Angela and Andrea Laster; grandchildren, Tameka Williams of Flint, Charles Evans Jr. and Dave Johnson both of Pine Bluff, AR; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and A’Marii Evans; 2 aunts, Mable Dansby of Southfield, MI and Juanita (Doll) Dansby of Gould, AR; 1st cousins, Ruby Lampkin, Lorraine Smith, Geraldine (Lester) Thompson, Roderick (Diane) Cooksey, Jeanette Allen, Laverne Gregory, Ricky Winston, Loretta (Nate) Bolden, Danny Lee, Shirley Mae Marshall, Carl Looney, Michael (Alison) Looney, Tony Looney, Twyla (Duane) Washington, Tyrus String, Levi D. (Milton) Gordon, Melvina String, Claudette, Claudia, Voil, Paula, Dave and Vincent Dansby and Nenelva Davis; sisters-in-law, Alberta Thomas of New York, Norma Wallace, Elizabeth Palmer, and Orean Massie all of Ohio and Rebie J. Evans-Sanders of Arkansas; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Bernadette Witherspoon and Esther Mitchell of Flint, Rosemary (Michael) Whitlaw of Burton, MI, James (Delora) Green of Atlanta, GA and Margaret Allen of Pine Bluff, AR. Mrs. Lillie Mae Massie was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Jackson and Francis Devoe; grandparents; aunts, Vernie Cooksey, Lois Looney, Doris and Velma Dansby; uncles, Jimmy, Willie, Dave, and Johnny Dansby, and Artie Shannon; cousins, Columbus Evans and Larry “B.C.” Blunt.
