HILLIARD, Mrs. Lillie Mae - Age 70, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at her residence. Family hour 1:30PM Thursday, February 19, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM, Pastor Patrick McGovern, Jr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Thursday. Mrs. Hilliard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Wednesday. Mrs. Lillie Mae Hilliard was born March 8, 1938 in Water Valley, MS, the daughter of Andy Holmes Ross and Minia Jean Freeman Logan. Lillie was the oldest child of thirteen. She received her early education in Water Valley, MS and moved to Flint, MI in 1969. Lillie was a very quiet person, who fed and open her home to anyone. She was baptized in the Church of Christ in 1971. Mrs. Lillie Mae Hilliard leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Jossie McKinney, Alice Hilliard both of Flint and Hazel Hilliard of Pontiac, MI; son, Larry Hilliard of Flint; 4 grandchildren, James Curtis (Angela) Hilliard, Antonio, Deion and Ayanna; 9 great-grandchildren, Jamesa James, Jr., De’Onica, Ma’Laiyah , Larry, Jr., Keshawanna, Madison, Antonio, Jr., Shaniya, Antwan, Jr.; 4 sisters, Levone (Roland) Martin, Leenda (Lawrence) Spearman, Bessie Logan all of Coffeeville, MS, Martha Logan of Chicago, IL; 4 brothers, Woodrow Logan, Jr., AV Logan all of Coffeeville, MS, James Logan of Chicago, IL and Cleveland Logan of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; 3 sisters-in-law, Lue Allan (Charles) Carr, Icie Mae and Modeen Higginbottom; brother-in-law, Randle Martin, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Lee Saulsberry, Tony Sanders, Sam McKinney, Emma Rolland, Lena, Ms. Ann, the Jackson, Benton and Walker families, Anita Barber-Woodley and Leslie. Mrs. Lillie Mae Hilliard was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hilliard; granddaughter, Shondricia Hilliard; parents, Andy Holmes Ross and Minia Jean Freeman Logan; stepfather, Woodrow Logan; 2 sisters, Dorothy and Emma; 2 brothers, Jimmie and John.
