Mrs. Lillie Hampton

HAMPTON, Mrs. Lillie - Age 84, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Fostrian Manor. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Hampton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-8p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Lillie Hampton was born March 29, 1929 in Keiser Arkansas, the daughter of William and Magnolia Martin. Mrs. Hampton married Robert Lee on March 8, 1949 and was blessed with three children. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church before her health failed. Mrs. Hampton was employed as a Nurse Aide, in which she received her certification in 1970. She was also employed at Buick City, a division of General Motors, retiring after 21 years of service. Some of the many things Mrs. Hampton enjoyed were her family, her dog, star; working puzzle books, Christian music and soap operas. She also enjoyed family gatherings and always had a smile on her face. Mrs. Hampton leaves to cherish her memory: son, Robert Earl (Donna) Hampton of Montrose, MI; 3 grandchildren, Monica Hampton, Leah Hampton and LaDiedra Hampton; 8 great-grandchildren, Trevion Hampton, Sharleana Bly, Malachi Boyton, Kamaria Boyton, Kiya Demps, Kamaya Demps, Laila Brown and Andre Brown, all of Flint; great-great-grandson, Little Trevion Hampton “Tre”; 2 nieces, Magnolia Hayden and family and Dorothy Boyd and family; 2 nephews, Richard and Robert Greenlee and family; sister-in-law, Nannie Lee Martin of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Brenda Belk, Betty Yearby, Versie Berry, Lula Lewis, Little Bit and Mrs. Holden. Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by husband, Robert Lee; sons, Willie and Jimmie Hampton; parents, William and Magnolia Martin; brothers, Henry Martin, John L. Martin, NB Martin and George Martin; sisters, Vera Martin and Vinnie Greenlee.
