Mrs. Lillian Bernice Feaster

FEASTER, Mrs. Lillian - Age 98, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Chruch, 2101 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Lynn Jackson, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2024. Mrs. Feaster will lile in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2024, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Lillian Bernice Feaster was born November 27, 1925 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the daughter of the beautiful union between George and Mary (James) Battle. Lillian was a graduate of Cuney Booker T. Washington High School in Hugo, OK. She received her Bachelor of Art’s Degree from Lane College in Jackson, TN and a Master of Education from Prairie View University in Prairie View, TX. Lillian completed post graduate work at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. On November 25, 1957, Lillian gave her hand in marriage to the love of her life, John A. Feaster and together their love produced one child, Atty. Bruce Feaster. Lillian was a dedicated teacher of the Flint Board of Education for 30 years. She was an active member of the Whittier Junior High School and Southwestern High School Advisor Committee from 1972-1979. Lillian gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She has been a devoted member of Quinn Chapel African American Episcopal Church in 1956. She served as a Charter Member of the Hostess Club, a Sunday School Teacher, Secretary of the Mayme E. Mitcham Scholarship Committee and a participant in many programs. Lillian joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. during her time at Lane College. She was a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was past President of the Flint Delta Sigma Theta Alumni Chapter, Inc. Lillian loved her family, being an educator, loved her church and loved her sorority. She was a kind and gentle woman that always smiled and shared her light with everyone she touched. Lillian Bernice Feaster leaves the cherish her memory: beloved husband, John Feaster; sister, Juanita Battle; brother, Nathaniel (Mahala) Battle; brothers-in-law, Herbert (Geraldine) Feaster and Thomas (Glenda) Feaster, all of Flint; sister-in-law, Mary Battle of Dallas, TX; daughter-in-law, Deborah Feaster of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her son, Atty. Bruce Feaster; parents, George and Mary Battle; brothers, Roscoe (Rose), James (Mildred) Battle, Earl Battle and JE Battle; sister, Leona (Grant) Freeman; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
