COLLINS, Mrs. Lillian Spears - Age 76, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Mrs. Collins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2023, with Words of Comfort from12:00 PM-1:00PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Mrs. Lillian Spears Collins was born February 12, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of John and Rubye Spears. Lillian was a resident of Flint and joined Quinn Chapel AME Church at an early age. She later became a member of Ebenezer Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Urundi Knox. Lillian graduated from Flint Southwestern High School and later attended Mott Jr. College where she studied Business Administration. She worked in Accounting for General Motors and later retired with 30 plus years of service. During her retirement she worked for Ward 6, Voting Precinct 40. Lillian loved playing golf with 24 Karat Golf League. She also loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and games. Lillian also enjoyed preparing food for family and extended family members. Mrs. Lillian Spears Collins leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Alphonzo “Butch” Collins Sr.; son, Alphonzo “Spike” Collins II; grandchildren, Marshall Brooks of Grand Rapids, MI and Mykala Brooks of Livonia, MI; 2 sisters, Suzanne (Kenny) Wright of Mt. Morris, MI and Mary Davis of Las Vegas, NV; niece, Yvonne (Frankie) Jahanger of Farmington, MI; nephews, John Bostic of Farmington Hills, MI, Jay (Christy) Powell of Charlotte, NC and Michael and Allen Davis of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Odena Wadsworth and family of Flint, Caroline Pruitt of Bloomfield, Hills, MI and Faye Spears and family; a host of cousins including, Angie Jackson, the entire Spears and Collins families; sister-in-law, Joyce Collins; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Betty) Collins, Sylvester (Derenda) Collins, Kenny (Suzanne) Wright and Dr. Oswald Bostic of Farmington Hills, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Cathy Sanders, Janice Harden, Margaret Bolden, Dora and Jade Thomas. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rubye Spears; daughter, Moesa Jones (from the union to Marshall Jones; sister, JoAnn Bostic; and brother-in-law, Michael Davis.
