Ms. Lillian "Cookie" Bolden

BOLDEN, Ms. Lillian "Cookie" - Age 77, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, in Orlando, FL. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, August 1, 2025, at Christ Our Hope Community Church, 2318 N. Pasadena Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Demetris Hunter, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Friday. Ms. Bolden will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM- 6:00 PM Thursday. Lillian “Cookie” Bolden was born June 23, 1948, in Detroit, MI to Darnella Holtzclaw (Holmes) and Willie Bolden. Lillian attended Flint schools and graduated from Flint Central High School. After graduation, Lillian attended and graduated from Hurley School of Nursing. Lillian spent many years as a LPN until her retirement from Hurley Medical Center in 1991. She relocated to Orlando, FL, where she worked in a dialysis facility for many years. After spending 10 years in Florida, she relocated to Michigan to be closer to family. When it was time for a change, she relocated to spend her last days with her only son and daughter-in-law until her transition. Lillian truly enjoyed being with her family and friends. She enjoyed laughing, dancing, listening to music, and cooking, especially her infamous fried chicken. Lillian always had an open door and open arms to anyone who came through her door, often being a second home to many, including many nieces and nephews. Lillian was well known for hosting infamous sleepovers, hosting holiday gatherings, and hosting rehearsals for “Bird & the Girls”. She holds a special place and name to so many including but not limited to “Bird”, “Tickle”, “Cookie”, and “Gi-Gi”. Lillian exuded so much joy that impacted everyone who came into her presents. She even spent her final moments laughing and dancing to Motown classics. Lillian “Cookie” Bolden leaves to cherish in memory: loving son, Jamel (Kathie) Bolden of Champions Gate, FL; daughters, Latasha McNeal of Grand Blanc, MI and Cheri (Shawn) Woods of Jacksonville, NC; sister, Teresa Lattimore of Flint, MI; brother, Kevin Bolden of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Mary Bolden of Florida; aunts, Libby Stephens of Detroit, MI and Harriett Knowles of West Bloomfield, MI; grandchildren, Malissa Lundell of Orlando, FL, DeQuincy Woods and Tatyana Woods of Flint, MI; great-grandchildren, Jayda Croom-Woods, Amari Woods, Ariana Woods, Dakota Johnson, and Calvin Orange; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends including special cousin, Cheryl Holtzclaw; special friends, Deloris Odom, Andrew Jones, the Barnes family, the Brown Family, and the Woods Family. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Darnella Holmes and Willie Bolden; sisters, Doris Bailey and Janis Bradley; and other close relatives and friends.
