Mr. Lewis James Becoats, Jr.

BECOATS, Mr. Lewis James Jr. - Age 80, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Landings of Genesee Valley. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G5443 Saginaw St, with funeral service commencing immediately at Noon. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Becoats will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Lewis James Becoats Jr. was born November 11, 1943 in Flint, Michigan, the only child of the late Lewis and Alice Becoats Sr. Lewis was raised in Flint and graduated from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1962.” He furthered his education at Mott Community College and obtained an Associate Degree in 1977. Mr. Becoats was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Greeter Ministry. He was a Supervisor at Buick Tool & Die, a division of General Motors Corporation and retired after 30 years of service. Lewis was the Past President of the United Council of Corvette Clubs. He was an avid bowler and golfer; he enjoyed traveling, riding in his Corvette and riding his motorcycle. Also, Lewis LOVED to dress. Mr. Lewis Becoats Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: devoted and loving wife, Sandra Becoats of Flint; sons, Lewis (Sandy) Becoats of Flowood, MS and Lonnie Becoats of Flint; daughter, Ronda Mabry of Lansing, MI; bonus son, Terrance (Elisa) White of Indianapolis, IN; momma-in-law, Evelyn Ward of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Brandi, Logyn, Ashin, Terrance, Adran, Elijah, Lonnie Jr., Justin, Lyndon and Andre; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashtin Jr., Makhi, Skylar, Averie, Nova and Montana; 2 sisters-in-law, Phyllis Walker and Kathy Jones; 3 brothers-in-law, Rickey Nichols, Kenneth Ward and Michael Jones; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Becoats was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Alice Becoats Sr. Because of the kindness of so many friends, too numerous to mention by name and not to omit anyone, the family would like to thank everyone for your kindness, thoughtfulness, comforting words, prayers, monetary gifts, food and cards. It means a lot to us. However, we would like to acknowledge and show special appreciation to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family, Rev. Alfred Harris Sr. and Saints of God Church family, and the entire staff of The Landings of Genesee Valley.
