Leverne Hirnes

HIRNES, Ms. Leverne - Age 35, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Ms. Hirnes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Leverne “Scrappy” Hirnes was born January 10, 1976 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Helen Hirnes and Bobbie Williams. Leverne was a happy, cheerful person who loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed being with her children. “Scrappy” was a good person and she will be missed dearly, although we know that she is in a better place. Ms. Leverne Hirnes leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, RaQuandra Brown; son Deontay Hirnes; granddaughter, Avaria Brown; mother, Helen Hirnes, all of Flint; father, Bobbie Williams of Atlanta, GA; stepfather, Darryl Cold; 4 sisters, Lisa Hirnes of College Park, GA, Deandra Cold, Tamara Wright and Terica Skinner, all of Flint; 5 brothers, Larry and Lawrence Hirnes, Eddie Walters, Jr. Deondre and Darryl Cold, Jr., all of Flint; nieces, Elisha Walters of Georgia, Kamiyah Ivy of Muskegon, MI, Kaamilah Hollis of Georgia, Dreanna and Dreaisha Gibson, both of Flint; nephews, Eddie Walters III of Georgia, Larquell Skinner, Lawrence and Laquan Gibson, all of Flint; uncle, Jimmy Skinner of Flint; a host of cousins including, Jimmy Williams, Jr., Rashaud Williams, Cotton Gray and the Skinner and Walters families; sisters-in-law, Pamula and Rose Ivy, Ashley, Crystal and Modenna Morgan, Clarisse and Candice Walters, Tammy and Monique Aubrey and Jenese Ferrell; brother-in-law, Joseph Walters; a host of other relatives and friends including, Cynthia Brown, Officer Twanda Plair, Officer Mary Buszek, Sgt. Kahan, Officer Tanya Meeks and several other friends at the Flint Police Department. Ms. Hirnes was preceded in death by her daughter, Arizona Hirnes; and brother-in-law, Bryant Walters. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Louise Walters and family, Mary Cold and family, the Brown and Skinner families, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart and the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family and Shaunda Gaines.
