Mr. Lester Haynes Jr.

HAYNES, Mr. Lester - Age 50, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM. Mr. Haynes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only. Mr. Lester Haynes Jr, “Blue” was born February 9, 1973 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mrs. P. Lynette Haynes and Mr. Lester Haynes Sr. Lester Haynes graduated from Grand Blanc High Class of 1992. He resided in Flint, MI for a long time before relocating to Atlanta in the early 2000’s. Lester was a jac-of-all trades, he loved working on cars from doing minor work to hooking up sound systems and alarms just to name a few things he could do on a car. Over the years of his life he cut hair with perfection, worked as a Certified Welder, in the FedEx Baggage Dept., Telecommunication Tower Technician to a store clerk/stocker. He had his “finger-tips” on a lot of things. Outside of working, Lester loved hanging out with family and friends, listening to music, making beats/samples, making a hit hook, talking about the latest top basketball and football players. He showed genuine love to everyone and everything. Let’s not forget about his dogs he has had and how he got them. Lester loved a good game of basketball, spades, dominos, checkers and even a little chess. Mr. Lester Haynes Jr, “Blue” leaves to cherish his memory: son: Qua’tez Davis; granddaughter: Niyaysia Davis (Pooh-Pooh) all of Flint, MI. Step-mom: Edna Jean Haynes (Jean) of Snellville, GA; sisters: Dice Neal (Keysha) of Flint, MI; & Gail (Johnny) Edwards of Rex, GA; brothers: Mwamba Haynes (Wamba) of Snellville, GA; & Gerard (Verlencia) Haynes of Mcdonough, GA; neices: JaQuarra Neal (Jaq) of Flint, MI, Ja’Les Edwards of Rex, GA, Ja’Lia Edwards of Ellenwood, GA, & JaNesia Haynes of Dillion, SC; nephews: Jarren Edwards of Ellenwood, GA & Malachi Haynes of McDonough, GA. Aunties: Sandra (Eddie) Byas of Saginaw, MI, Marva Wright (Sister) of NY, Evelyn Wright (Baby-Love), Sharon Jones (Pearl) of Chicago, ILL, Vivian Wright of CA, Phyllis Peoples, Florida (Hosie) McKay (Renee) of Cleveland, Ms, Toni (Richard) Brooks & Sandra Brown of Houston, TX; uncles: George Neal Jr (Jr) of Fl, Terry Haynes, Randy (Brenett) Haynes of Cleveland, MS, Sammie Haynes of Penn, & Dennis Richardson of Atlanta, and a host of cousins and great cousins. Lester has a host of other relatives and friends that there are too many to name. I don’t want to forget no one. You’ll know who you’ll be because he let you know that every time you were together. He touched so many people no matter where he went. Lester was preceded in death by parents, Lynette Haynes and Lester Haynes Sr., both sets of grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunties. The family would like to express special thanks to the 8th floor Nurses, ICU nurses Stacey and Randy, Dr. MegaIa and team, Dr. Valvani (pulmonary) and Dr. Perum (Oncology) at Mclaren Hospital. We would like to thank Lawrence E. Moon for their kindness and services during this time.
