Mr. Leslie Robinson

ROBINSON, Mr. Leslie - Age 86, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Robinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Leslie Robinson, Jr. was born November 27, 1926 in Lexington, Mississippi, the son of Leslie Sr. and Sallie Robinson. “Jr.” as he was affectionately called by his family and friends was a resident of Mt. Morris, MI and a member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart. Leslie was employed at Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant for over 32 years and was a member of UAW Local #659. He also worked for Peoples Furniture for over 25 years. In his spare time, “Jr.” loved to go to basketball and baseball games, especially to see the Pistons, Miami Heat and the Detroit Tigers; “All the way”, he would say. Leslie also enjoyed working in his garden. Mr. Leslie Robinson, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Ronda Williams (Kelvin) of Mt. Morris, MI and Regina Johnson of Flint; stepdaughter, Shelia Wade of Houston, TX; grandchildren, LaRhonda Williams, Ray A. Rice, Jr. and Kemitria Johns, all of Mt. Morris, MI, Myles Hardey of Flint; step-grandchildren, Jamie Wade, Micheal Smith and Quincy Dunn, all of Houston, TX; great-grandson, Calvin Collins III; 4 sisters, Rhodoris Johnson of Woodridge, IL, LouVera (Henry) Burns of Flint, MI, Dorothy Counts and LeVearn Burch, both of Maywood, IL; brother, Albert (Bertha) Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, other relatives and friends including, goddaughter, Margert Mack; god-granddaughters, GeRhonda Aiken and Sylvania Aiken. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Robinson; parents, Leslie Sr. and Sallie Robinson; sister, Osie Redmond; and brothers, James and Eugene Robinson.
