Mr. LeRoy Adams

ADAMS, Mr. LeRoy - Age 64, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Flushing Valley Golf Course-Clubhouse, 1124 E. Main St., Flushing, MI. with memorial service commencing at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Roosevelt Brown officiating. Mr. Adams now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. There will be no public viewing. Mr. LeRoy Adams was born August 1, 1949 in Ozan, Arkansas to Lurane (Jordan) Allen and Andrew B. Adams. He spent the majority of his life in Flint, Michigan with the exception of several joyous years residing in Seattle, Washington. LeRoy possessed an entrepreneurial spirit which included owning a men’s clothing store, LeRoy’s Clothing, in the Flint area. Later in life, LeRoy was one of Flint’s top automobile salesmen. LeRoy was a devoted father. In his leisure time, LeRoy was an avid basketball fan. His passion for the game extended to coaching his daughter’s basketball team and creating a basketball league for area girls. He also enjoyed cooking for his family, fishing, traveling to Seattle, and spending time with friends. But most of all, LeRoy found great pleasure in providing any assistance that he could to others. His last selfless act of kindness on this Earth was through his donation to the Gift of Life Michigan. Mr. LeRoy Adams leaves to cherish in his memory: daughter, Alari K. Adams of Flushing, MI; son, Saleem (Tepfirah) Rushdan of Detroit, MI; step-daughter, Shareatha Brown of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Darrien Ray of Indianapolis, IN, Shashua, Bi’nah, and Aneesah Rushdan, all of Detroit, MI; mother, Lurane Allen of Flint; sisters, Erma Welch, Lorraine (Raydell) Munerlyn, and Gloria Allen, all of Flint, Tamarla Adams of Charlotte, NC; brother, Frank Allen, Jr. of Flint; nieces, Cara Fuller of Flint, Kyrra (Demetrius) Richmond of Grand Blanc, MI, Makeysa Brown and Sekolia (Germaine) Ambres, all of Ft. Worth, TX, Janean (Michael) Couch of Grand Rapids, MI, Stephanie Munerlyn of Flint, and Paris Adams of Charlotte, NC; nephews: Donyell Gutter of West Bloomfield, MI, Max (Felicia) Scott II of Dayton, OH, Raydell Munerlyn Jr. and Jordan Munerlyn, both of Flint; lifetime love, Janice Adams; mother-in-law, Susie Brown; special friends, Bill, Dave, Dwight, Joe, and Nate; a host of aunts, uncles, great- nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his father, Andrew B. Adams; grandparents, Hudis (Johnson) and Rowdin Jordan, Maybell and Luke Adams, Sr.
