Mr. Leonard Earl Bell

BELL, Mr. Leonard Earl - Age 78, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, December 30, 2019 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Samuel Berry III, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 AM Monday. Mr. Bell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Sunday, with family present to receive friends from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM. Mr. Leonard Earl Bell was born on January 30, 1941 in Muldrow Oklahoma, the son of John and Ruth Clay Bell. After graduating from high school in Roland, Oklahoma, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1959. After serving for ten years he moved to Flint, Michigan where he worked at General Motors Institute (GMI). While working for GMI, he obtained his Bachelor Degree from the University of Michigan in Business Management. After graduation, he became a salary employee for General Motors Corporation until he retired in 1997. In his spare time outside of work he loved to work on computers. Leonard also worked as a Tax Preparer for his family and friends. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, drove the church van and taught computer classes. Leonard will be truly missed by all. Mr. Leonard Earl Bell leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Thessalonia Bell; 2 daughters, Lori Bell and Nedra Bell; 2 sons, Leonard Earl (Pamela) Bell and Jerome Bell; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Releford; brother, Kenneth (Ida) Sanders; sisters-in-law, Betty Bell, Shirley Bell, Nola Bell and Diane Bell; brother-in-law, Theotis (Betty) Rozier; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his son, Lemeer Bell Sr.; parents, John and Ruth Clay Bell; sisters, Phyllis Bell, Paula Cherry and Faye Triplett; brothers, Joe, Arthur, Edward, Raymond, and John Bell. Mr. Bell was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army.
