BRYDSON, Mr. Leon Cicil "Big Daddy" - Age 86, passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at his residence. Funeral service 11AM Thursday, January 19, 2006 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Pastor James Sanders, officiating. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 11AM Thursday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Leon Cicil Brydson "Big Daddy" was born April 22, 1919 in Summerville, Texas, the son of Will and Mattie Brydson. He retired from Buick (Foundry) and was a member of UAW Local 599. Leon was a real man and father who loved his wife dearly. He was loved by many, many people and touched many lives. Mr. Brydson loved spending time with his wife and children and enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, putting puzzles together, playing pity-pat and eating catfish on Fridays. His favorite colors were red & white. Mr. Leon Cicil Brydson is survived by: his loving, caring & much devoted wife, Gail (Alston) Brydson of Flint; daughter, Eddie B. Mitchell of Burkeville, TX; 2 sons, James Earl Brydson of Beaumont, TX and Rashad Mitchner of Flint; 5 stepchildren, Tangineca Alston, Jimmie Mitchner, Maxine Payne Wilson and Claudine Rice, all of Flint and Amos Powell of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Teresa Moore, Annie Bell Hubbard, Lorraine Anderson, Marie Dixon and Azarie Dupree, all of Texas; brother, Earl Brydson of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends including special friends, Jim Miller, Mr. & Mrs. Mitchner, Lois Bunton, Mr. & Mrs. Percy, Charles Johnson, Jingo Thomas and Lewis Patton. Mr. Leon Cicil Brydson was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mattie Brydson; brothers, Luther, Will Lee and Loyce Brydson; 1st wife, Leslie Brydson; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Modena Alston; best friend, Bessie Dukes; special friend, Charles Burton; and friend, Wanda Ford. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Hurley Medical Center and McLaren Regional Medical Center. Special thanks also to Heartland Home Care & Hospice Services, Andi, Tammie, Christine, Connie, Tawanna, Shantee, Mary, Dr. Dismond, Dr. Saeed and Dr. Weaver.
