Mrs. Lenora Tyler-Wedlow

TYLER-WEDLOW, Mrs. Lenora - Age 90, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2019 from Second Friendship Baptist Church, 6046 Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Tyler-Wedlow will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Friday, with the family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with to receive friends. Mrs. Lenora Tyler-Wedlow departed this life on April 13, 2019. Lenora was born on May 24, 1928 in Sunflower, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Mose and Lilly Washington. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was surrounded by her loving family when she transitioned to glory. Lenora moved to Flint, Michigan in 1946 and was employed by General Motors Corporation for a number of years. She was a longtime member of the Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Flint where she sang in the Choir and served on the Mother’s Board. Lenora enjoyed dancing, bowling, bingo and spending time with family and friends. She was also known for her famous macaroni & cheese and sweet potatoes. Lenora was previously married to the late Reverend Archie Bell Tyler Sr. who passed away on March 8, 1996 and to that union, the following six children were born: Geraldine (Johnny) Peterson of Grand Blanc, MI, Archie (Loretta) Tyler, Spencer (Sherrie) Tyler, Larry Tyler, Lynette (Ardell) Cason and Wendell Tyler, all of Flint. Mrs. Lenora Tyler-Wedlow leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Henry Wedlow; 5 children; 2 step-children, Donny Wedlow of Las Vegas, NV and Nina Wedlow of Memphis, TN; 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Erma Washington of Detroit, MI and Gloria Washington of Greenville, MS; 2 brothers-in-law, Collie Wedlow of Las Vegas, NV and William (Lenna) Wedlow of Houston, TX; adopted daughters, Cynthia Tyler and Hattie Donaldson, both Flint; adopted son, Reverend Leatherberry; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mildred Johnson, Fletcher Johnson and Mr. & Mrs. Foster, all of Flint. Mrs. Tyler-Wedlow was preceded in death by her husband, the late Reverend Archie Bell Tyler Sr.; son, Wendell Tyler; great-granddaughter, Tashara Toins; parents, Mose and Lilly Washington; 6 sisters; and 7 brothers.
