Mr. Ledget Glover

GLOVER, Mr. Ledget - Age 75, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Glover will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Ledget “PaPa” Glover was born April 9, 1937 in Waynesboro, Mississippi, the son of the late Percy Pearl and Ora Lee Glover. He graduated from Waynesboro Vocational High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi, “Class of 1956.” Mr. Glover united in marriage to Mildred Glover in 1965; soon thereafter they relocated to Flint, Michigan. He retired from Flint Buick City, a division of General Motors and was a member of UAW Local #599. Mr. Glover “PaPa” was a loving, caring and strong man, who showed his loved to everyone he met. He especially loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Glover began his walk with Christ at an early age with Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, where he still held is membership upon his relocation back to Flint, Michigan 2 months ago. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories: devoted wife of 47 years, Mildred (Hicks) Glover; 2 daughters, Mary (James) Drake of Waynesboro, MS and Myra (Tyrone) Houston of Flint; 3 sons, Ledget (Valarie) Glover Jr., of Waynesboro, MS, James (Varon) Glover of Medrine, MS and Marcus (Tonia) Glover of Flint; adopted sons, Larry and Rick; 14 grandchildren, Quetta, Toyia, Jay, Shay, Kandice, Lil Ledget, Jhamyra, Lil James, Trinity, Taryn, Lil Marcus, Tiara, Tia and Lil Ty; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary (Curie) Richards and Elaine Carter, both of Flint; 7 brothers, Joe (Samella) Glover of Flint, Bobby (Sheila), Benny (Debra), Larry (Jean), Gary (Francis) and Carl (Gwen) Glover, all of Waynesboro, MS, Percy (Armetter) Rankin of Dekalb, MS; sisters-in-law, Noreen Glover and Velma (Ulysses) Allen II, both of Flint, Shirley (Lee) Lloyd and Marvella (L.C.) Mitchelle, all of Portland, OR; brother-in-law, Willie (Jannie) Hicks of Flint, Phoenix (Katherine) Williamson of Mobile, AL; aunts, Bethel Walley, Dorothy McNeal and Ruby Gardner; uncle, Eddie Rankin; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Mr. Glover was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Ora Glover; sisters, Florasteen Bolton and Mae Evans; sister-in-law, Edith Donald; brothers, Percy Lee, Odell and Vertis Glover. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and Sis. Marilyn Fuller and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family and his adopted daughter, Sabrina Harris.
