COBB, Mr. LeRoy - Age 75, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at his residence. Family hour 12:30PM Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Faith United Methodist Church, 2266 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1PM. Rev. Lamarr Griggs officiating, Rev. Courtney Williams, Host Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30PM Tuesday. Mr. Cobb will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Monday. Mr. LeRoy Cobb, Sr. was born on September 5, 1931 in Tarboro, North Carolina to the late Reden Sr. and Mary Lena Cobb. He was raised in Mt. Vernon, New York, where he attended and graduated from New York Public School system. He married Hazel Mae Franklin, September 30, 1951. Out of this union, 7 children were born. The family moved to Flint, Michigan in 1967. He was employed for many years as a Master Mechanic for Jerry Davidson, Ken McGilvary, and Blaine Buick. LeRoy was a family man who loved and cared for all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LeRoy was the perfect example of a loving husband and father. He was a Full Prince Hall Mason in Mt. Vernon, NY. He loved to travel, listen to music, talk on the C.B. aka Unit 401, laugh and talk to people all over the U.S. via his computer. LeRoy leaves to cherish his memory: loving and dedicated wife, Hazel M. Cobb; 7 children, Lynda C. (Perry) Gardner of Flint, Debra Cobb of Canton, MI, Denise (Rodney L.) Clay of Flint, LeRoy (Mary) Cobb Jr. of Flint, Loretta (Jimmie) Bullock of Pontiac, MI, Doreen (Allen) Cobb Louis of Flint, and Renee Cobb of Flint; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; He is survived by his only sister, Muriel (Robert) Sharpe of Spring Valley, New York; 2 brothers, William (Janie) Cobb Sr. of Norfolk, Virginia and Milton (Eleanora) Cobb Sr. of Mt. Vernon, NY; 2 sisters-in-law, Rose Fabian of New Mexico and Ella Cobb of Carey, North Carolina; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Gloria Washington and Nancy Weatherspoon and special cousin, Blanche P. Ben of North Carolina. Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, Reden and Mary Cobb Sr.; brother, Reden Cobb Jr.; grandchild, Shontill Cobb; great-grandchild, Jada Ford; special cousin, Dock Bullock. The family would like to express special thanks to Flint Hospice Nurses and therapist, Gil who cared for our husband and father.
