WRIGHT, Mr. Lawrence Sr. - Age 84, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Michael Gibson, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Wright will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, with family present to receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Mr. Lawrence Wright Sr. “Larry” was born February 8, 1935 Tipton County, Tennessee, the son of Carrie and James O. Wright. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan. Lawrence served in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. He was employed as a Skilled Trade Mechanic at General Motors Corporation where he retired with 35 years of service. Lawrence loved fishing, hunting and working on cars. Mr. Lawrence Wright Sr. “Larry” leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 65 years, Eula Ray Wright; 4 daughters, Dorothy Ann Wright, both of Flint, Janet Denise (Pastor Michael) Gibson of Mt. Morris, MI, Carol Wright of Flint and Raquel Wright of Sterling Heights, MI; son, Lawrence (Monica) Wright Jr. of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Lawrence Wright III, Nestle S. Watson, both of North Carolina, Pastor Marnell T. Wright, Damontay D. Wright, Dondric L. Wright, Cassidy R. Wright, Wesley A. Wright, Jackie L. Gibson, Shaquita L. (Curtis) Fields and Ta’Lor E. Gibson, all of Flint; 10 great-grandchildren, Shiniece B. Wright, Damontay Wright Jr., Na’Kyah M. Wright, Daquarius Wright, Jayce Wright, Skye Wright, Ze’Rianna Mackey, Ke’ondra L. Fields, Lawrence A. Wright and Liam Wright; sister, Annie (James) Cunningham of Covington, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; 3 sisters-in-law, Ester (Oscar) Dye of Victorville, CA, Sylvia Teamer of Grand Prairie, TX and Mae (Lewis) Wright of McCool, MS; 2 brothers-in-law, Carl Teamer of Flint and James Cunningham of Covington, TN; a host of friends including special friend, Bob Kemp. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his grandson, Shiron L. Wright; great-grandson, Logan Wright; parents, Carrie and James O. Wright; 4 sisters, Mary Tipton, Bertha Gaines, Maggie Lou Sanders and Jean Williams; 2 brothers, James Wright and Lewis Wright.
