Mrs. LaVera Ann Campbell

CAMPBELL, Mrs. LaVera Ann - Age 69, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at her residence. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 11, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller Jr., officiating. There will be no public viewing. Miss LaVera Ann Campbell, aged 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her residence in Plano, Texas. A memorial service will be held on November 11, 2023, at Lawrence A Moon Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Dr. Henry L. Fuller Jr. There will be no public viewing. LaVera was born on June 14, 1954, to the late Zula Mae (Nesby) Campbell and the late Levi Campbell. LaVera grew up in Flint and attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Northwestern High School, class of '72. LaVera was a proud member of the Marching Green Machine and actively participated in various clubs and events. Her remarkable talents and beauty were recognized when she entered and won the Ms. Black Flint pageant. Throughout her life, LaVera excelled in many areas. She was an accomplished flautist, artist, baker, and seamstress, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship. LaVera dedicated many years of her professional life to IBM before retiring. She was also a member of the Viking/Husqvarna Sewing Gallery of Texas and a Special Education Assistant at Weatherford Elementary in Plano, Texas. LaVera's spirit touched the lives of many. She leaves behind one son. She is also survived by her dear sister, Mrs. Edith J (Campbell) Mbuyi (Evariste), and her brothers; Levi Campbell of Euless, Texas, Rico Campbell (Tonae) of Mesa, Arizona, her aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth (Nesby) Owens. Special cousins, Thelma (Johnny) Jefferson, Dora Daniels, Ardellia Willaims, Cheryl (Ivory) Adkins, Sandra Cabine, Charlotte Davis, Marion Donan, all of Flint. Cathye Johnson, her bestie. LaVera will be greatly missed by her nieces (Edith & Maia), nephews, cousins, her Tuesday night margarita group, and beloved pet, Wrestler. As we gather to celebrate the life of Miss LaVera Ann Campbell, let us remember her for the uniqueness and quirkiness she brought to our lives. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in our hearts forever.
