Mrs. Laurine Harold

HAROLD, Mrs. Laurine - Age 95, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Fenton Health Center. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at New Zion Baptist Church, 1601 Chippewa, with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Harold will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Laurine Harold was born August 5, 1926 in Chase, Louisiana, the daughter of Willie and Pearlie Hobson. Laurine attended Carroll High School in Monroe, LA. She attended Flower Mount Baptist Church in Louisiana where she was a very active member. Laurine later married James Harold Jr. Shortly after she moved to Flint, Michigan and joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor WG Terry. She was a faithful member until her illness. Laurine served over 58 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Mother’s Board, Bible Class Teacher, and etc. Mother Laurine loved cooking for her family. If you came to her house it was a must that you eat something. She was a Seamstress and Beautician for many years. Mrs. Laurine Harold leaves to cherish her memory: 5 sons, Hosea (Christine) Hobson, Julius (Mary) Hobson, Michael Harold, all of Flint, Christopher (Karen) Harold of Ypsilanti, MI and Glenn (Gloria) Harold of Halton City, TX; grandchildren, LaSonji Southall Roselyn Wilkes, Jameca Hobson, Jasmine Hobson, Patricia Hobson, Olivia Hobson, all of Flint, Ja’mon Day, Myles Harold, Maya Harold, all of Texas, Kenita Harold of Georgia, Jacqetta Purches, Kendra Smith, and Tamra Mance; great-grandchildren, Jahmarrie Roberts, Mariyah Pirtle, Josiah and Janiyah PirtleImmani Harvey, Jaylen Manuel and Michael Roberts, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Clara Davis of Louisiana and Pearlene O'Neal of Nevada; brother, Fess Hobson of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Lou Smith, Mary Hodges and special brother, Pastor Jacob Hawkins. Mrs. Harold was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Jr.; son, Benard Hobson; grandchildren, Preston and April Hobson; parents, Willie and Pearlie Hobson; sisters, Gertie Hobson, Lovie Mills, and Reabie Mitchell; brothers, William and John L. Hobson Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Fenton Health Care and Pastor Jacob Hawkins.
