EDWARDS, Mrs. LaTanya Renea - Age 48, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Memorial visitation will be held 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Flint, MI. Ms. LaTanya R. Edwards was born November 22, 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Cleveland and Jacqueline Johnson. Tanya was a mother of 3 young men and she loved them more than anything. She looked at food as an art and loved to come up with new creations in the kitchen. LaTanya was a Manager at Wendy’s for over 15 years before moving on to her next job at Acument, where she worked for 6 years. She loved music, especially Jay-Z and Mary J. Blidge. Her faith and courage were and still are second to none. LaTanya also enjoyed bowling and would go bowling any chance that she got, while she could. She also loved any show that involved detective/investigative work. She would always tell her close family how she would make the best detective. And above all, she loved sunny days, and her plant. Ms. LaTanya R. Edwards leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sons, Jermaine, Jerrell and Jalen Redwine, all of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Jynx Redwine, Alijah Stepter and Tebina Finch; mother, Jacqueline Edwards (whom she loved dearly); sister, Ms. Casandra Edwards, both of Flint; 2 brothers, Lonell (Chana) Edwards of Novi, MI and Antonio Edwards; 2 nieces, Ms. Jalisa Thorns of Flint and Ms. Charlie Edwards of Novi, MI; 6 nephews, Courvoisier Manuel, Dominc Edelyn Jr. Robby Paxton Jr., Jamel Thorns, all of Flint, Christian and Colin Edwards, both of Novi, MI; 3 great-nephews, Courviolsie and Contana Manuel, both of Flint and Chase McDonald of Novi, MI; uncle, Charles (Charlene) Chase of Novi, MI; a host of cousins; mother-in-law, Gail Redwine; 2 sisters-in-law, Jaquetta Redwine, both of Flint and Christina McDonald of Novi, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, Archie and Akeem, both of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins, Dinah and NaTasha Ruff, Mark Harrison Jr., all of Flint, Charle Woodson of Detroit, MI, Shawana Love of Texas; special friends, JoAnna Aguilar, Al Summers, Michael Thomas, Felicia and Jermaine Redwine. Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland Johnson; 2 grandmothers; 2 great-grandmothers; 2 aunts; 8 uncles; 1 nephew; 6 cousins; and a host of other relatives. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Warner, Dr. Nimmie, both of Henry Ford, and Hospice of Henry Ford, and the nurses that looked after her.
