MILLER, Mr. Larry Todd - Age 76, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Family Hour 1:30 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Friday, February 7, 2025. Mr. Miller will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral home and may be viewed Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Larry Todd Miller, affectionately known as Chief was born November 27, 1948, the third child of James and Flossie (Shumpert) Miller. He accepted Christ at an early age. Larry attended Flint Public Schools and Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1966.” Larry served in the United States Army until 1968 and was employed by Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation and Richfield Disposal. He owned and operated Larry and Son’s Southern Classic Cars and Precious Metals. Larry was incredibly outgoing and friendly, readily treating anyone he met as if they were already his friend. He positively impacted many people, young and old. Larry was an attorney in his own way. He helped many families and friends navigate their legal issues. Larry was a political junkie, an avid sports fan, and classic car lover. Mr. Larry Todd Miller leaves to cherish his memory: wife of fifty years, Denola Miller; 3 sons, Michael Garland, LaDon Miller, all of Flint and DeQuincy Adams of Kennesaw, GA; 3 brothers, James Miller, Bernard Shuman, both of Flint and Troy Muhammad of Redford, MI; 4 sisters, Gail Miller Elston of Rockville, MD, Shantel (Leslie) McWilliams, Sherri Miller and DemaTrice Miller, all of Flint; grandchildren, Makaila Garland, Jalante Miller, Denijah Miller, Michael, Anjel Mansa Amillio, Gabrielle Jabriel, Dario Mercy Garland and DeQuincy Adams Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jalante, Meeko and Mahki; uncle, Collin Miller; 2 aunts, Novella Miller, all of Flint and Cora Miller of West Memphis, AR; 5 sisters-in-law, Hollie Shumpert, Pam Miller, Frances Miller, Earselene Miller, all of Flint an Debra Miller of California; 2 brothers-in-law, Eddie Garland and Reginald (Helen) Garland of Seattle, WA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the Mount Morris, Vassar Rd. and Beecher Community family; special cousin, Alvin Miller and friends, Dale Mason, Greg Tanner, Williard Laplant, Clinton, McDaniel, Miller and Shumpert families. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, James and Flossie (Shumpert) Miller; 5 brothers, Michael Shumpert, Rodney Miller, Brian Miller, Demetrius Morris and Robert Miller; 3 sisters, Sharon Alexander, Zandra Jordan and Patricia Gloster Player; mother-in-law, Iola Solomon; father-in-law, Dan Miller; brother-in-law, Dennis Solomon; and loyalty pet, Daisy.
