Mr. Larry Donnell Dillard

DILLARD, Mr. Larry Donnell - Age 64, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his residence. Family hour 1:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at Carpenter Road Apostle Church, 4010 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Bishop John Allen, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 1:00 PM Friday. Mr. Dillard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only. Mr. Larry D. Dillard was born November 17, 1958 in Tupelo, Mississippi, the son of Eddie Freeman and Essie Ivy. Larry lived in Tupelo until he was 9 years old. They moved to Flint, Michigan where he resided until he was about 64 years of age. He worked for Gracelawn Cemetery for 18 years and Eastwood Memorial for 12 years. Larry retired from Korex Corporation after 10 years of dedicated service in 1999. He will always be the “Worlds Greatest Mechanic.” Mr. Larry D. Dillard leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Essie Ivy; wife of 40 years, Lissa Dillard; 4 daughters and 5 sons, Laura Mitchell of Flint, Larry Mitchell of Swartz Creek, MI, DeAndre Mitchell and Derrick Mitchell, both of Flint, Kamilla Jefferies, Antwon (Nadine) Dillard, all of Tampa, FL, Anthony (Ceicilia) Dillard of Burton, MI, Pattie Lashawn (Tony) Jefferies of Grand Blanc, MI, and Totianna Dillard of Pine Bluff, AR; grandchildren, DeAndre Jr., Pashen, Shamegia, Larry III, Lamar, Talarria, La’Tasia, Taiya, Tashia, Zamarhya, Carter, Journey, JaVon, Umar, Jacob, Anthony Jr., Trennon, Allahna, Alissa, Natalya and Nicholas; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Williams; 4 brothers, Terry Dillard, Sam Ivy, LaVon Ivy, all of Flint, and Lavelle (LaKeisha) Ivy of Indianapolis, IN; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; sisters-in-law, Serina Carr, Cheryl Fields, Hasnah McFarland and Tracy Rush; brothers-in-law, Eddie Fields, Cornellius Jefferies, Anthony Jefferies, Jonathan (Melinda) Jefferies and Slyvanus Small; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. Clyde Brown and family, Uncle Woo, Mr. Richard Porter, Ms. Precious Brown, Cheryl Scribner, Kieosha Mitchell, Ebony Mitchell, Tamika Ellis, Edward (Gail) Sewell, Dee McGowan, Minnie Keys, Detrick Hall, Deondrell Burks and LaToya Dillard.
